My daughter's iPhone 4S has iOS6 so won't be much use me testing it. I'll have a look at the raw HTML and see if there's something that might be causing issues with those particular images.

EDIT: do the small square images, and nothing appear when clicking on them? If so, it's known issue with iPhones and the lightbox code, I'll have to look into replacing lightbox with a different library. If you don't see the small square images either, it might be an issue with the rel attribute on the links. If you click the images you can see, do they open larger in an overlay?

EDIT2: I stumbled on a post on another forum about a possible fix which I've added to the site. This is for mobile devices so that the lightbox code can attempt to calculate a suitable size for the overlay window. Can you let me know if this helps?

That's really strange, as I can see them in every browser I've tested, and Google tablet and phone. I'll try my daughter's phone a little later.

Card mostly, polystyrene, polystyrene board and a few bits of plasticard.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to forfeit my entry this month :/ I'm making it for someone else, and they've decided they want to paint it themselves. Oh well...

Just a thought, you could enter it as is, it does look like it was sand blasted and rusted all over.

Plus, remember from the rules:

Competition Rules wrote:If an entrant has not completed their project by the deadline, they may still enter an incomplete entry if desired, but it will of course be judged as such. The only requirement is to post the entry by the deadline. The members of the site have the final word after all!

So you could take some pictures of the model as it sits, put it into a one page entry, and still enter the competition.

Hate to see someone put that much effort into an entry and then just have to bail out. Which, note to self, I certainly could have done with my guillotine model. Meh, live and learn!

cain it looks great as it is, even though its not painted, as a scratch built model it is certainly a terrain piece to be proud of
as tw said it would be a shame not to after the time and effort you have put in

Ok thanks guys, I'll edit some pics together tomorrow. It does feel a bit cheap as its a painting competition, not a building competition.

Ah! Do not let the title determine the contents of the work! Or to put it another way, we started this as a painter of the month competition, but Talus and I have discussed this at length.

The original intent of the competition was, admittedly, to get people painting up all that stuff they had lying around. But TBH, this is really more of a modeler or modeling competition than just painting.

For example, Spack put together a card stock tank. The painting was okay, but what set the model apart was the fact that it was a card stock model. That aspect of the hobby was certainly taken into consideration in his finished entry. In another competition, Spack helped his son fabricate a missing propeller blade that the model was missing. It was done so well that I couldn't really tell which propeller blade was the replacement. Putting together a card stock model or scratch building a replacement part are obviously not painting, but were an integral part of the model as a whole.

Point is, even though this is called the "painter of the month" competition, all aspects of the entry should be taken into consideration for the finished entries. Your work, from a rough sketch to the wip to the finished model was done very well indeed, and you should be proud to enter it.

Perhaps we should change the title to the "AOS Modeler of the Month Competition" to reflect this? And to remind our members to vote for the complete project, rather than one aspect of it? It's sort of the difference between paining a nice Eldar model, and going through the extra effort to do a conversion on it before painting. If the painting on both were the same, the conversion aspect would make one better than the other.

Thoughts?

not a single metallic on it, which is quite a change from Acropolis (whose ribs were silver with heavy black washes)

im rather pleased with how its come out, it stands out quite nicely, and looks pretty nice next to pegasus (will follow tomorrow)
