Drop out? Pish posh!
I know between now and the weekend you're going to change your mind about the colors, and decide to strip the entire model and re-do it.

Oh, wait, I see some dust on it. Might I suggest an overnight bath in fairy spray to get it all nice and clean again?! ;)

Next month I'm thinking scratch-built terrain, so bring it on!

I've added my finished pic to the gallery. Its not my best work by a long long way. So I wont be upset if I don't get any votes at all. I dislike painting large models, and the T'Hawk burned me out a little. As a result, I found it difficult to motivate myself. /endmoan

So it is a BA Biker with Plasma gun in the 3rd Squad of the 8th Co. (All assault).
I have used metalics instead of NMM. The reason for this is 2 fold. 1st because the finished squad will inclued models I am revamping from 10+ years ago. The 2nd reason is almost the same as the 1st, in that I still have 2x 10 man assault squads from 10+ years ago that I wil also be revamping in the same fashion as part of the 8th Co.
Also I will be painting the Co. and Chapter symbols onto the shoulders, rather than using embossed / moulded shoulders.

and if that is your work when you arent motivated, i fear for my chances when you ARE motivated ;)

Dang it Talus, I keep telling you... You're a better painter than me dang it! =P

Anywho. The base is the plastic bike base that comes with the Dark Vengence set. I just used the balsa and filla method I showed you guys a couple weeks back. Here is a WIP pic the bases for the rest of the squad.

The squad composition will be the same as a Ravenwing squad.

Oh yeah Cain, that is just terrible!

The way you did the colors on the bike, nicely shaded and highlighted as well as the incredible scratch-built base for it.

Oh hell yes, I'll also be surprised if you get any votes! ;)

Now that that's out of the way, a very nicely done model, well painted!

I agree with Talus, if this isn't your best work, I can't wait to see the ones you are pleased with!

Okay, only 4 more entrants need to post their finished work. The deadline for that is midnight GMT on Monday.

Wish I'd kept my mouth shut =P As for the bases.. they're easy. I can do them in my sleep.

Nah, it's all good Cain!
I'm my own biggest critic as well!
I often don't think anything I've painted is that good.

My tanks are nearly done! Should be making the deadline with a few minutes to spare!

Okay, these are my last WIP shots before I get my entry finalized.
Here's the US Jeep nearly finished;

Image

I temporarily glued the M10 crews to coffee stirrers so I could get them painted up.

Image

The Command cars for the Tank Destroyer Security Section are coming along too. Just a bit more weathering to be done.

Image

And one of the M10 Tank Destroyers is very close to finished.

Image

And just to give you an idea of the scale I'm working in, here's the jeep with a US 5¢ piece (roughly 21mm in diameter).

Image

Only 3 days left to get the entry finalized!

250 angstroms is about the size of the detail brush I use on these models! ;)

due to a botched oil wash, which promptly REMOVED a crapload of paint from ra's head and body...

he's back to grey primer, and i will be painting my backside off tomorrow!

fortunately im a master with an airbrush, so i think i can do it!

hands are finished, as is the base!

Image

see, base is done =)

i absolutely do NOT feel good about having to do this, but when a load of paint is removed, what else can you do?

cross your fingers for me guys! im gonna need it :S
