1500 Pt Scourge Army

1500 Pt Scourge Army

Postby markb » Sat May 31, 2014 5:38 pm

After initially deciding to go for the UCM I am now torn between it and the Scourge, my reasoning is that there apeears to be a few UCM oplayers at the club, that and the fact the "in your face" nature of the Scourge appeals to the old Ork Kult of Speed player in me! To that end I have come up with a 1500 pt Scourge list based on the contents of teh 2 Plater Starter Set and the 1500 pt army deal on the Hawk website. Criticisms and suggestions are welcome.

Planet Delta 4, Zone 17 Suppression Force
Clash: 1495/1500 points
Standard Army
  • 1500 pt Scourge List (Standard Roster) [1495/1500 pts]
    • Oppressors [342 pts]
      • Desolator: Desolator(Master) [225 pts]
      • Reaper Squad: 3x Reaper [117 pts]
    • Vanguard [450 pts]
      • Hunter Squad: 6x Hunter, 2x Marauder [292 pts]
      • Reaper Squad: 3x Reaper, Marauder [158 pts]
    • Warriors [345 pts]
      • Warrior Horde: 3x Warriors, Marauder, 2x Invader [156 pts]
      • ^ Sharing ^ Warrior Horde: 3x Warriors [81 pts]
      • Reavers: 2x Reaver [108 pts]
    • Occupation Patrol [168 pts]
      • Prowlers: 4x Prowler, Intruder Beta [60 pts]
      • Reavers: 2x Reaver [108 pts]
    • Occupation Patrol [190 pts]
      • Prowlers: 4x Prowler, Intruder Beta [60 pts]
      • Destroyers: 2x Destroyers, Intruder Alpha [130 pts]
"The guns have stopped because we are at last about to attack. Even our generals aren't mad enough to shell their own men, they think its far more sporting to let the Germans do it!"

Capt Edmund Blackadder, the Somme, 1917.

Have you seen the new stuff for the Scourge?
stalkers, ravagers and Harbingers are excellent and should be considered. The Annihiltor and Destroyers are imho must have units.
I have never had much success with prowlers in small numbers. Yes they hit hard eventually but they take a long time to do it and normally not in enough numbers. That said they are scouts and can extend the command ranges

that seems like a good balanced list though from what your talking about buying.

Chris he can always add those later with the money he saves from buying the deals. ;)

ps: these are soo easy to paint also. No need to try and win any painting competition Mark, just get them blasted out to gaming standard asap and you'll enjoy your gaming more. You can always go over them later. ;)

Berger, I may have to get them off you. Just priced up this army from Waaugh Games and using the Two Player Starter Set, the stuff from Berger and buying the additional units I need it works out cheaper than buying the starter set from them and the 1500 pt army from Hawk. Plus I don't get the units I don't really want, i.e. the Slayer heavy grav tanks.

At 10mm, one brush stroke should do the job!

Well I've just bought Bergers Scourge so that's going to be the army for me. I will do UCM at a later date but going to concentrate on the Scourge for now. I will do a blog for them in a desperate attempt to actually motivate myself to paint them!
