Seeing as Dropzone seems to have most of my attention right now, I figured I may as well start a dedicated project log.

I've been posting most of the models upto now on the 2013 4th Quarter Project Log for Everyone. So I wont repeat what Ive posted there.

So new stuffs..

UCM Seraphim Strike Fighter

UCM Raven-B Dropships

I like how alot of the UCM stuff clips into their respective dropships without the use of glue or magnets.

UCM Archangel Interceptors

I was able to get the 2 player starter box last week. I sold the Scourge to a friend at my local store. But the UCM stuff has now been done. The buildings you can see in the next few pics are the free to download/copy/print building available from Hawks website. I mounted them on foam core, and have done a second layer on various thicknesses of card, cut pieces out and stuck them on the top to create the illusion of 3d detail. I haven't finished with the buildings yet, but I will come back to that at a later date.

And some close ups.

UCM Rapier AA tanks.

UCM Legionary Infantry and their Bear APCs

The plastics in this set are not as detailed as the metal/resin counter parts. For the vehicles its not so bad, but the infantry I may replace at a later date.

UCM Sabre MBTs

UCM Condor Medium Dropships

And my force as it stands today.

Comment, criticisms and questions all welcome.

Very nice mate. Like the colour scheme. Very tau feel about them. I say an into game on beasts of war, it looked quite a decent game, all be it quite simple. How long does a game take?

The colour scheme is based on the GDI from the Command and Conquer games. I chose that because that is exactly what I though as soon as I saw them.

I couldn't actually tell you how long a game lasts yet. I haven't had the chance to play with all the Christmas/New Years palava going on. But hopefully in the next week or two.

They look very Nice, The vehicles though small are incredibly detailed and I think your scheme picks that up nicely. I’ve painted mine as per the box art in a dark green but am considering stripping them to start again in a lighter colour, possibly an urban grey.
An average game probably takes in the region of 1 to 2 hrs for me and the boy at the moment Nigel. It’s a very good game that can involve a lot of movement and relocation. I’m loving it at the moment, its a shame I’ve only got the boy to play so far.

Long past due that I updated this thread.

I had decided this would be a good point to post my completed UCM. But as we know, Hawk are planing for a 2nd command vehicle for most if not all of the factions. But I thought I'd still post now anyway.

I like it a lot Cain, color scheme works great too. Ties the entire army together.

But, um, when did the galalctica fighters join the UCM force?

Ah, yeah, now I got them1

Those you cleverly camouflaged by painting them in the same livery as the rest of the force. Clever!

So now I've finished my UCM (almost), and being completely blown away by the new models.... I've decided that Resistance are going to be my next major DZC force of choice.
Due to bad timing in the cash flow department, I was going to have to wait nearly a month from the release date to get my hands on them. But unfortunately a good friend bought me the Resistance starter set against my will, so I don't have to wait.
So first up, I have done one of the Lifthawks and it's cargo of Hannibal tanks. I realise that they are practically the colours of the studio models, but I really couldn't think of a better scheme for them.

Well I've gotten my Resistance starter set all painted up now. So here they be.

I know you've seen a few of these already, but as you can see I've taken these outside in natural light. The daylight is a little harsh in these pics though. In reality, the colours are somewhere between the Indoor and outdoor pics.

I've also had the chance to play a few games (just using the starter set) and I have to say, so far I think the resistance are a far stronger faction than we've seen before. I mean, almost everything has an extra DP over other faction equivelents. AA that hits on 2+.. A6/4DP dropships that have AA
Being able to fire the turn you either embark or disembark a hovercraft..., awesomeness! And my worry about civilian tech not having Active Countermeasures... Hovercraft protects them until they are close enough that CM is not an issue anyway...

I think I am going to enjoy Resistance very much..

Nice work Cain! Like the colors and the way you did them.

Now, how about a batrep that describes just how awesome the resistance are?
