Zeus Command Walker's Shield

Zeus Command Walker's Shield

Postby KInG » Wed Jun 04, 2014 10:52 pm

Not sure if this painting of the defence shield is what I was after. I'm thinking now just a bone / white colour with gloss paint on it also to make it look like wraithbone or porcelain.

I like the porcelain look much better than the "tutti-fruity" of the first one.

Agree with TW here. It provides a nice contrast to the main colour scheme. If I have one criticism though it's that before you repainted them you should have used a base coat of something like Bestial Brown or Snakebite Leather (or whatever the hell GW are calling them these days!) as it would have given you a base coat to layer the bone over and would have covered the original paint better as I can still the original paint under the new one.

I think you should just strip it and start over! ;)

Other than that. I agree with Mark, but I thought it was just the first of a few thin coats.

it is just a thin watery first coat ;)

it needs a lot more work yet, the silver needs washing and im going to try and put some white highlights on the bone also before glossing again.

Fair enough mate, but you should still have used a midtone brown as a first coat, it would have made it a lot easier to cover. If you want to acheive a really smooth bone colour use a wet brush as your final layer, its what I used on the white and bone of my HE and it really makes a difference.

The camera shows off all minor defects and blemishes!
