I'm going to try and modify it a bit more. However, here's the file I sent him so you can see how the etching compares (this is a JPEG rendering of the SVG file that was actually used).

It doesn't look far off from the etching, though I wonder if the letters lost a little thickness due to the minimum etching width between them. Maybe extending the background so that it is more rounded or pointed at the ends to extend into the "corners" of the face. If they are asymmetrical, it won't look so rectangular.

Damn Culven, give me a chance to post a followup :P

This is still rough, but here's one with a less regular background and I've enlarged the Age Of lettering.

If you look at the faces of the dice you'll see that they're almost round, so making it too pointy or two wide at the ends will make the logo smaller overall.

umm... i though the only way your could send things from the US to the Uk was via Airmail? its what ive always used, and its only 50% more expensive than sending things within the UK.

plus we do have the option (im assuming, Ben please correct me if im wrong) that we can can send to Ben and have him bring them with him to WHWorld.

of those, i prefer the Stealth, then the Scarab. the white pip colour would be fine IMO as it would be like the silver writing in the logo (and the white writing we type in on the forums :)).

cheers

if you bring up the Speckled Stealth in one window, and have a AoS thread in the other, and tile them so they are side by side, the silimarity between the forum backround & text to the dice and their pips is uncanny...

just saying. ;)

Don't forget that you're not limited to one colour ;)

I myself am having a hard time deciding - I may well end up with 4 or 5 different colours :P

The parcels I sent were shipped First Class, not Priority. I suppose they are all Airmail, but the Post Office has their own terminology, which I don't fully understand. There were other options which cost more and reduced shipping time, but I thought you could wait and I could save myself enough money to buy a Pepsi. ;) I don't know the specifics of the different classes, and I suspect they are similar to that shown in an old Garfield cartoon. Everything is sorted one one side of the wall, only to be collected in the same bin on the other.

@ Spack - Sorry, I only have to post my thoughts, not manipulate an image, so I can post faster than you. I do like the updated image. as for the rounded, pointy ends, I was just thinking enough to break up the vertical line at either end of the logo while filling a bit more of the curved area of the die surface. You have already done this and the undulations above and below the logo help as well.

I agree with Matt, gold on the blue would look awesome.

I think the blue with gold would look better too.

So is everyone happy with the latest design change? Shall I go ahead with the logo in post #123: http://www.ageofstrife.com/modules.php? ... 1973#11973

What about order sizes? To keep it simple I'd like to have orders placed in blocks - would you prefer 25 at a time, or 10? I'm happy for people to order lots of different colours, but not to the point where it's 1 dice of each colours. So, are multiples of 10 ok with everyone?

If there are no alterations needed, then it's time for everyone to start ordering. Is everyone happy for £10 + P&P for a block of 25? Given that a 16mm GW dice is about 5 grams, that would put postage at approximatly to £1.77 to Europe, £2.56 to the US. Added to that would be the cost of little boxes to put them in, which I would guess at around £1 each or less.

Would you rather I put up a new post with details of ordering? I guess that way everyone can order by posting a reply, and it's easy to keep tabs on who's ordered what.

And finally, payment - while I'm happy to take Paypal, I would have to ask for an additional 3.4% + 20p to cover the charges. I'm happy to accept personal cheques, postal orders, and bank transfers.

i will be picking mine up from you at WHWorld, so no need for postage or a box. :)

good idea, yeah. i would also suggest you set a deadline for getting the orders in so they can be made and shipped ready for the Aug meet up.

i can send a cheque, or i can just give you the money when i come to club next week. :P

cheers!

p.s. i have no idea as to what colours i want. if we arent going for a unified site theme then i will have to pick one myself. suggestions welcome!
