AoS Dice for August 2009

The transfer papers are a bust - looks like they'll only work on fabrics like cotton.

So far I've let my 4 year old son loose with the bag with the sticker on, and the edges show no sign of peeling. I'm going to scrunch it up in my pocket at work tomorrow and see how it deals with that. I'm also going to see if I can find some sort of sealant that can be applied to make it harder wearing.

Hmmm I wonder what the temperature range of the leatherette is, it would be easy to heat press the logo, but it needs to be able to take 180degrees.

Its the same way you put vinyl cut designs onto T Shirts.

I doubt it'll handle high heat - I managed to melt the outer coating off a bag with an iron.

What I'm looking for, and failing miserably, is some sort of clear flexible spray that will add an outer coating to stop the edges of the sticker lifting. Sort of like a varnish, but needs to be flexible. I'm sure there must be something available, but without a brand name or an idea of what it might be called (I've tried searches for things like "fabric sealant") it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack :(

I'm not sure that's flexible though - it looks like it's for fabric only for when mounting/printing to stop it moving.

I did find some stuff called Super Seal Acrylic Sealant Spray which looks like it will do the job, I'll be ordering some later today.

There's always something like this for an option.
Don't know how well it would work out for what you are trying to do, but it looks like something to try.

Just got the test dice photo from Chessex which I've attached. I'm going to adjust it slightly to make sure the bullet holes are not touching the crosshair, and thin the lettering a little so that they come out clearer.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about!
Good work Spack, look great!
Will the large die have the same design? Or will it feature the date like last year's?

For the large one I'm still toying with the simpler logo with the same wording as last year. I'm going to post up some ideas this evening.

Maybe something like this:

Oh, good news - a bottle of Poly-Thane leather/vinyl coating restorer arrived today, this should allow me to seal the stickers to the bags and prevent them from peeling as it creates a full flexible sealing coat of clear polyurethane just like leather furniture and leatherette has. I'll post the results over the weekend once it's had time to dry fully.

Looks good to me! Will the font look like that or will it be a little bit different?
