At the moment looks like the Saturday for the tournament and possibly the sunday too, but can't guarantee the sunday yet.

The lunchtime meal deal is now £8 per person as it is "much improved"... I'll try to find out what this means!

Also, they can do pizza for us on the Saturday night so we don't have to call out for it. Who's up for that?

Provisionally our friend Luke will be coming on the 12th and poss 13th. He may bring a friend of his too, but am unsure how he would fit with doing tournament. Will update when I know more.

Personally, I don't think I could eat more than 2 pounds of Lasagna at one sitting!

Questions
mattjgilbert wrote:The results of the Doubles tournament will influence the games played on the Sunday in the hope that all games across the weekend will help tell a story. All results and the outcome the games have created will then be presented back here after the event. This means that the tournament results can be taken as stand-alone for the Saturday but WILL influence the next day.

1) Could you just remind me the rules for doubles is it
750 1+ troops, 0-1 everything else, opponents picked random on the day?
2) What does the above mean, if I win on saturday(shahh and monkeys might fly out of my butt) do I commit to using that as the core of my force on the next day, must I carry on using that codex..Do I form up in apoc with whoever I was teamed up with on the saturday? Will it be modifiers, assign a mission??
Could you give some examples of how "locked in" one thing will lead to another. I might change my Saturday list for the escalator, dependant on such fine things.

How the weekend will pan out and the rules will be available next week :)

commit as core...no
apoc team....no
use the codex...no

although sticking to a theme or at the very least a side ("good" or "evil") would be nice. Jumping ship from one day to the next because that side won the day will be frowned upon (unless you declare that intention up front before any games are played ;) )

Bump - please note I've updated the first post. Full tournament rules and details will be available from next week. However, I need to get an idea of meals (lunch and evening pizza/chips) asap. Plus it would be good to know what armies people are thinking of taking just to get a rough idea of the "sides" for the weekend narrative.

PS. I've not been through the thread in detail yet to see who already said they would do the lunch offer.

What is in the lunch? Because £8 sounds only marginally cheaper than something from the Bugman's menu + drink.

And when they say "do pizza" what's the food volume to price offer here?

Whilst convenience is attractive, food is one thing I'm very tight on cost to return ratios ;)

As for theming, I can only join in Apoc if I play on the "evil" side, so I guess I'll have to run with that.

EDIT: by "evil" I mean running some combination of CSM, DoC and IA Renegade/IG lists depending on what people are willing to play against.
