For event announcements to be shown in the recent news on the forum home page.

Given that there are fewer 40k races than members of the site, there's going to be a crossover somewhere. But your idea of chaos medicae may well be different to mine - and certainly different to ruffian! :P

Count me in for an Eldar medicae. I've already raided the bitz bin and done the main assemble tonight. Where can I put the WIP pics again?

Here's my WIP so far. I went with building an Eldar trauma surgery table. In the little vignette the medic tries desperately to save a wounded guardian. The pictures aren't so good. The first I've taken with my new cell phone. Looks like I'll have to borrow a real camera for the final product.

Here they are. Before and after construction. I hope this works, I just started a picasa account so I could post these. This is my first try.

I guess it falls to me to think about a doks serjery...

EDIT: quick question, can I use a large flying base, as I'm a little all out of other bases, and thats the right sort of size for what I want to do?

ive just checked, and the flying base is about 1mm smaller all round than the top surface of the 60mm round bases. thats close enough to be OK IMO (its not like it gives you any sort of advantage or anything). Dan/Boris are in charge though. guys?

p.s. ive given the sand on my base a second coat of PVA glue. i still need to finish cleaning and attaching bits though...

Silly question, didn't this close at the 1st of december originally?
Kyrolons looks awesome (and sets a benchmark just as a WIP)
If I can find a day and a bucket of bits.. I might try for this one(I'll be the late subbmission that misses the vote :) )

if it did, that was a typo: these are 1 month comps.

Yes, the 1st Dec was a typo when I first set up the thread - I had it running from the 30th Oct to the 1st Dec which would have meant a 4 week gap, it's now 3rd Oct to 3rd Nov so you'd better get your skates on :)

Thinking, if I get the chance, of using a heroquest torture wrack :)

Thanks for the comments guys. Now I just hope I can pull off the execution of the paint job I want. I'm debating on keeping it in my craftworld colors (Alaitoc) or in making it more "civilian/medical" in nature, and if I do what colors to use? If I were doing human it would be "ambulance" colors like red/white.

This bears more thought.

Since the chapter colors are regal blue and sunburst yellow (blue with yellow highlights) I would just reverse the order and make it primarily sunburst with regal trim. Fluff would be that wounded warriors would identify their chapter colors, but know it to be a medicae facility from a distance.
Just my thoughts. Good luck in the competition, looks good so far.

I like the idea TW, and agree with the concept. The only problem is that the inverse Alaitoc colors (don't ever call us a CHAPTER again human :) ) are the same as the Iyanden colors. I'm thinking the trauma table is going to be raw wraithbone colored (light brown with bleached bone highlights) then bits picked out as instrumentation and crystals etc. The 'doc will have Alaitoc colored armor with a white coat. This will play off the WFB concept that the Elves (translated to Eldar in 40K) use white as a color of healing and mourning.

Tomorrow it gets primed.

Could Necrons just use a Tomb Spyder model ;) or maybe an empty patch of ground as "They'll be back".

Tounge so far in cheek it's coming out the other side.

a bunch of Scarabs repairing a damaged Necron Warrior (dragging all the different bodyparts together etc) would look pretty cool actually...

i thought about doing a sludge pool with Plague Zombies rising out of it (not getting healed, but replaced).

remember that in CoD a Medicae Facility grants FNP, so anything that could represent that is cool. :)
