Tell you what - I'll play Kate and you first using 5th ed and then you'll not be going in "blind" to the team game :) Kate can help out in our apoc game saturday morning too for some extra learning.

You up on Friday or Saturday?

Its a 5th ed happy list, but I appreciate your catching up on 5th and so leave it up to you (and any officer\s) which we play.As I say I think saying no escalation will assist us in finding our respective feet with so many things happening at once, and saying it won't be alpha will prevent you feeling most of your special rules will be scrapped.

Thats pretty much all we said about it..and I encourage you to have a partner whether they be a sidearm a wyrmtongue or a sage elf. I know your not used to moving more than 30 models.

It has always been the prerogative of half-wits and fools to point out the Emperor has no clothes, but the Emperor remains the Emperor, and the half-wit remains a half-wit.-The Sandman (The friendly ones)

we will have to see: i was planning on teaching Kate the changes gradually, over the next month or 2. i dont want to put her under any extra pressure on the day, or confuse her by using both editions over the weekend.

IMF2000 wrote:The reason we don't play 4th at all as is because it is simply too complex to worry about the old rules as well as the new ones, for us new players. We're focusing our time on learning one set of rules which is hard enough.

thats perfectly understandable, and reasonable. :)

we will see what we can do - maybe by sunday i will be ready to command her army and she can watch and see what changes she picks up.

cheers :)

I haven't actually played a game of 5th yet. In fact, I haven't had a chance to play anything since May, so I will no doubt be all over the place!

add +20 miles to your journey then ;)

I've only played a handful of 5th ed games but 4th is already a distant memory. I've probably got a confused approach to the game though :D

We're still learning the basic rules really. I surprised myself last night by winning my first ever game :D
