Not a lot is happening, Myself, Toby and James are currently the only attendees. unless I get a lot of interest in the next few days it will probably be cancelled.

paulmc, the meetups are open to anyone, the reason for trying to sort out interest and take names ahead of time is to try to pre-arrange games so that nobody ends up hanging around with nothing do play all weekend.

I can probably make it up on the Saturday if it doesn't get cancelled.

Stunty, can you get us into the alternative tournament? I don't know any of the RWI team & they haven't let me join their boards (I'm not cool enough :()

How many are we down for? What's the min numbers that can work? I will speak to the club and see if anyone is attending, what was decided as the format, I know last time I discussed it we were talking about putting a poll up.

I am still intending to attend but I don't know what's happening day to day with work so can't confirm to closer to the date.

For future events is there anyway we can stick the thread to the top of the page do it stays visible for the duration to stop people coming and going online and missing things while the threads not very active?

I want to continue the meet ups and it will be a shame to let them die off so I will continue attend and support where possibly.

How many people on this forum actually play 40k any more?

How many of that subset want to play a tournament?

I suspect the answers are not very optimistic for a 40k tournament...

As to other games, we appear to have fragmented into 40k (a few), KoW (a few), Malifaux (less), Warmachine (me and very rarely), and FoW (a few).

In terms of cross overs, we are all busy people & we have other things to do & spend our limited funds on other than another brand new gaming system we might only play once a year. Of the games above, I play 2 (one very rarely as I don't have time for 2 gaming sessions a week) & I'm only intersted in one other (malifaux).

Given the lack of activity on this site over the last few months, I suspect our best shot at a meet up is a WoT LAN party. Which is rather depressing really.

LH, that is the vibe I get too, but could we achieve a AoS vs RWI event like we arranged before when numbers were low?

Sounds like you need to make some sort of survey (not a poll, need to see people's individual answers) and a spreadsheet LH :P

We have space reserved for 25 people what im thinking is if I offer say 16 spaces to RWI they can organise a tourny, campaign or whatever and if whoever from our group turns up they can join that or we do a seperate thing entirely.

Tbh I don't think the forum even has 25 regular posters, Nevermind ones that still interested in 40k so this sounds like the only option.

I love the meet-ups, its just a shame a mate of mine has asked me to be best man at his wedding and organise a stag do for that weekend.

I have made the last few meet-ups before this one and really enjoyed every one. I would recommend them to new members on this site. I like the fact there is more than just 40k on offer.

In terms of gaming, I will pretty much play anything (I have 40k, WH, KoW, WP, Malifaux). I really enjoyed the randomness last time and the board game we played (Talisman) was quality and provided a couple of highlights from the whole weekend!

I am happy to bring my own games along (that require boards) - I have Blood Bowl (I have enough teams for others to play with) and Dwarf Kings Hold, if this helps?

Well you say that... and then my latest advert for 40k was 8hours of rolling dice.."its better than waking up in an east european prison cell."

So the your only hardcore if you live hardcore list of loyalist dogs.

Are you going to play this time stunty? Are you still up for this sunday?

(possible- do you actually want to play games?)
and Paul MC is curious.
Everyone else either pulled out or was never in.

Suggest offering 18-20, if at best conditions we can possibly put up 6 guys (work depending, viral outbreaks, caveat emptor etc etc) for 1 day.

That means they can have well attended event
RWI may decide to play arkham dust tactics for money or be part of the KOW thing..It would be handy to know what they'd like to do so we know whether we can leach ourselves onto them, but we're not exactly in a position to demand to be in the driving seat.

I personally hate the idea that something that required 6 months booking ends up being Stunty a week or two before chasing up whether people are actually going to pay for food to know if we've stopped a better group who can get their shit together from having fun at a venue reliant on that trade.

Nor me (I thought it was due to my style of batreps), but you can all of a sudden see their fora without being registered. From memory, you know the guy who used to be in the GW events team whose part of their ruling council (Matt), and you played against and smoked with ..erm was it Scoffer (?) Necron dude) who whilst not ruling council is vocal webside. Tom was the really quiet guy whose their ace in the hole I played against.. I can't remember the name of the young vocal guy who took the same bloodhammer list as I would have, but he was nice.. and I arranged you and him having a quick pick up game.

This I why I suggested earlier in the year that we post a poll of what people wanted to do and who would attend, although as a forum we book the venue early (stunty) we leave the organisation and admin too late (all of us). People would find it easier to commit the more advance notice they have, this is also the reason why future events (if any) are somehow sticky'd to the front page, we have had the dates booked for months but Paul has only recently seen it due to the thread been quite on previous visits.

I will mention it tonight at club and post any interest tmw.

This wouldn't fix half people saying they're changing their minds between april and august.. or the always last minutitus of the northern group.

We had a banner poster thing for one, I wonder if it can be modified.
