Aug Meet Up 09 - Aeronautica Imperialis

Postby conscriptboris » Sun May 24, 2009 5:06 pm

Hi all,

Ive notice a few were interested in doing a AI game for the meet up, I would like to get everyone who wants to play so maybe we could do a mission (even in teams?)

Ive played before with Dan and ive read the RB now, I was going to edit one of the scenarios to fit whoever wants to play and the army available!

Mix it up a little bit, right what i need is, If you want to play, what you have and i f you dont mind someone using some of your stuff one the day! If you dont have anything I hoping we can spread the wealth!

Right, ill edit as ppl add:

My Chaos are part painted as we speak. I'll try and get all the Imperials sorted too.

Don't mind people using my stuff.

Read the rules, but not played yet.

EDIT: don't have any epic stuff.

I can also bring some epic vehicles for objectives - Shadowsword, Land Raider, and a few other bits. I've also got a few of the FW AI scenery pieces too - missile silo and radar station.

aye well, it will be a balance as including ground anti air will be a bit of a drama considering some havent played, however objectives on the ground to use for strafing runs?

I have a scenery piece i was going to use, once i knock this up, ill state what is required is needs be!

I was thinking of ordering some of the landing pads etc, well ill let u know of my ideas soon!

Elvis

PS, anyone else serious?

I'd recommend for the first games to not have any ground objectives or anti air. Getting a grasp of the basic rules is better done just using aircraft and concentrating on dogfighting. I'd recommend you avoid using your Thunderhawks for this - they're slow and can only use heavy bolters against aircraft which are hard to use effectively. Thunderhawks only really work in games where the objective is to get troops on the ground or pick them up, it shines as a heavily armoured troop carrier.

I'll be happy to load out models as needed. If we play some basic 80/100 pt games then that's pretty much 4 fighters per player.

aye mate, i like your thinking....however I have to have a game with my THs in :) even if it is a one sided dogfight :P

Well we can have the basic game then a slightly more involved scenario??

I like the idea of trying to accomplish something, not just shooting down the other plane :P but it is required for teaching/refresh

I got a load of the Old Crow terrain for playing AI. Shame I'm not coming as it might have been an incentive for me to finally put it together and paint it up :(

I would love to play. :)

I dont have any models, but I am happy to use some of Dan's (or anyone elses) if that is OK. I have flicked through the rules but not really read them (I will try to read them in time, but if not, I might need a quick intro).

cheers :)

Oooh...that is interesting, anyone got any pics up against the FW terrain for AI?

On a side note: Chaos planes look great but are a right  8O   to paint.
