@ KMB - I was just "putting it out there". If the chance came up to play any of those games, I'd be happy, but I'll probably just be bringing my DA and Beastmen. Possibly my FoW (as it's such a small case!).

As for Advanced HQ, as I recall (and it was a long time ago!), it was not too bad. Played a little like Quest, only with less "character" - you could not say "I want to jump this table, swing on the chandalier and face this beastie in combat" and have the GM say "take tests x,y,z". Development of your character was similar though.
Still love Quest though!
D&D quote of the decade:"Wait, doesn't anyone have a Rod of Resurrection? If you've got one, I need it bad. Get in here with your rod and give it to me!"

I've had a reply from Dan @ GCN, they'll be in touch with details on how to join if we're interested and what they can do to help run an event.

No, I'm on holiday.

No date settled on I don't think. But I do have Mantic stuff to sort out which will dictate any dates I'll be available for next year.

SUMMARY SHOWING WHAT WE HAVE AND WHAT WE NEED TO THRASH OUT.

*So places it might be*
Near the old maelstrom place”Wargames Foundary” ,-- Redditch **Redditch Wargaming Society*--, brum.

*Dates it might be*
“OK, Easter is in April and with 5 weekends in March 2014 I suggest we go for one of the later ones to avoid half-term and people taking family time.

So how about with the weekend of the 15th/16th or the 22nd/23rd March 2014?”
Which got most approval from peeps.

Interested peeps thus far

MattGilbert
Baragash
Red Devil
Killmaimburn
Ljundhammer
Stryder
Berger15
MarkB
Angelwing(probably working but may)
Conscript Boris (2/3rds chance not deployed at time)
Ruffian (possible)
Spack (Saturday only)
King (This year)
Bane (committed next year)

No response from reps of Brum club..No word from matt about dragons tears, no on mass view from the north. Or DaBosses lot (although I think they like their stuff a bit more organised than we can manage at the mo)

Games suggested (many many many)basic idea this time around is 40k is pushed way into background seemed to get near universal approval, since we've done 8-10 with 40k at centre.(At one point I said "ff&*% it don't tease me with the idea anyone will even bring 40k".. but peeps did appear to be willing to consider 1 game possibly to the side at some point maybe.

Giant space hulk communal event,
Space crusade, Dominion, Bloodbowl..Aeronautica/Starwars.(Do we all have star wars now.. that could be another communal 40 ships apoc thing)
Shed load of mantic stuff.(although me and mantic peeps suggest not warpath)
Something arkham if we can get something or just Talisman, for the pub.
FOW, 40k, Malifaux (edition dependant)
Misc boardgame bits and bobs

THERE IS NOW A SEPARATE THREAD FOR A MEET AT WHW FOR PLAYING 40k THIS SEPTEMBER..

I have no clue what you posted there at the end toby, but nothing new there :D

I didn't realise 40k wasn't so popular lol

I wouldn't wanna play any of them other games, so Mark me down for a drink and a quick one day visit :(

Anyone one who would like to play 40k though, is welcome to grab a friend or two and come stay at my house for a gaming weekend :)

Top chap King!
In light of that, the regicide will be postponed, but my new model army will get around to crown crushing eventually.

Ah, yes, I remember that, those idiots in the robes have been sent to psychic school remedial class.

For the blissfully ignorant, what happened was I had a squad of battle psykers that, in (as I recall) 3 consecutive turns spanning 2 different games, managed to die en masse due to psy test enormities and fled the table without doing anything at all.
My overseer had to have his chain sword repaired after that.

Harumph, grumble grumble.

I remember that too although in my head they were a group of battle muppets with cursed dice which I still blame for losing us the game :p

Sounds very like my GT experince with my psyker.. 6 games he perilled 8 times IIRC..fortunately they are now so ridiculously overpowered one can only shrug and say fair enough when their heads explode turn 1 of a game you deem important.
I guess frank... he .. had something on his mind.. YOwwwww

Or when you roll 11 on the warp storm table first turn which I have done twice. First time typhus was luckily not on the board yet. 2nd time saw eldrad die instantly. :D.
