Train fare is £9.20 a day and taxi is £5 each way so it comes to £58ish for three days.

if u share it comes down to £22.50 a night, which is what we payed. I suspect Matt's was more coz they had an odd number therefore one double and a single room will have pushed the price up a little.

so staying in the hotel the two nights needed would be £70 tops, and I'm sure u could scrounge a lift if ur alone, or maybe share a taxi.

So that's max £12 more and less hassle, more fun, more socialising, and a hearty breakfast thrown in :)

At lest I don't have to worry about trains now as I've finally got round to buying a car. :) Just a pity I didn't get it a week earlier.

Don't be too scared antubis, Tim isn't trying to show you his MTG cards.
Its more that it appears those lot carry on gaming well into the night and appear to be a bit disheartened when I can only do 20 hours gaming in a weekend. I told King I only geek 9-5  But their invitation/coercion/hard sell is because they want to game with you some more, take it as a complement.(and then let your brain and wallet make the real decision)
Did you play many games this weekend? I enjoyed ours.

We each had a single room (£30 each per night). If we had a double two of us would actually sleep in the same bed! When I gave you the number for the hotel did you change your twin rooms for doubles? Is it a northern thing? Is that why you forgot your army in your excitement to sleep with Taumaul? ;) :P

I wouldn't be so sure....

The hotel are happy for us to game into the night and this time had even got tables ready for us. It's also a chance to have some drinks and we've also taken the chance to get out and go for food/the cinema. It's worthwhile staying and making as much of the weekend as you can.

i think the double beds are actually 2 singles pushed together. one of the rooms they showed us was laid out as 2 singles, and they said they pushed them together... and the double in the room we ended up in was 2 singles really as well.
