I doubt the efficacy of the fluff, and was reappraising so as to create a better game.- i looked at mine it was too flimsy and easy to ostrasize (to make the size of an ostrich, certainly not ostracize)

Kmb seems to be long range titan pooing and up close daemon squidging.

Wlh seems to be heavy + mobile infantry.

I will be static heavy + bike armada.

2 x 5 khorne bikers (2x plasma's) inc fist champ.
2 x 5 glory bikers (2 x plasma's) inc fist champ.

Whole formation may outflank.

Defence farce flabby.
Kommander Commander, pow fist, + missile launcher.

The grand battery, 2 x 3 lascannons.

Platoon com secs x 2, missile and flamer.
2 x 2 squad platoons, flamer + missile.
2 x russ, lascannons.
2 x bombard strikes (all squads have vox spotters).

2 x sabre air defence platforms, tl auto cannon (probs in the making at the mo though).

I am thinking of merging the 2 khorne squads into one, of 8 and using these points to bolster the flabby.
Am concerned at a lack of anti deep strike retalliation.

Possibly some disciples (hardened vets) with plasma/demo charges.

Also, might form another heavy team and free up 2 squads and a command section for similar.

Any thoughts???

I'm still up for merging and combining our oblits.. but we could do with 12 and so far we only have 8 declared.
Your using a khorne demon weapon or regular??
I'd agree with mergeing the 2 bike squads (but do you lose outflank if you do that? which datasheet are you working from?).. have you played bikes much in 5th ed?

The lord is unmarked (bad experience once with bloodfeeder biker lord.
Rolled a 1, took a wound, no wounds came back, but outnumbering wounds killed me to bits.*)

The hounds of huron (reloaded) require 1 lord + 3+ bike squads, so it's ok to merge.

Haven't played much 5thed chaos period, but I wouldn't have thought they would have changed too much.

Ps, has anyone got any spare land raider gun sponson shields they could "donate" to the cause, for the sabre's???

*I had actually predicted this very possibility on seer about a fortnight before. :(

I think we need another stable D weapon platform.. they have 3 super heavies (presumably) + the prism formation of unlimited StrD firyness (Which can lose 2 before it suffers realistically- 2 Prism of rerollyness,saunter to the ground still viable as individual painyness,)
I don't care how.. although it would be nice for it to match our rebellious fluff.
I played 1500 using the demons (expanded from core+ blood crushers) against a 9 tank guard army died to a man having killed one leman russ (LOC FTWsss) ...
I'm having incredible doubts about taking anything so fluffily blatantly rubbish against such a force. (About the only thing I do have is....troops choices)

The hounds look funny, I like the turbo-CHARGE..engines.

I'm away for a week(Hols..although I'm also trying to paint Broodqueens Orks..30ish done of 80 so far,deffcoptas still at sticking stage :( )

I think the Obliterators might be useful as deepstrikers (its a nasty one way mission lads but I am sure you will make us proud) - to bounce the enemy vehicles.

The Biker unit should flank IMO.

My army is looking like its going to be 5 mechanized Squads (3 Arm’d fist/1 command/1 veteran), 2 leman Russ, 1 Medusa, 1 Baneblade, one 35 man Platoon (w/LCs and PGs in each squad).

In addition to this I will hopefully have 20 beastman and 40 Mutants to launch a do or (very likely) die attempt across the battlefield.

With the strength of enemy armor arrayed against us I would suggest that the Super heavies deploy as reserves (at least that way they get a turn of shooting!!!)

Discuss

P.S. 5 lash princes? Don’t do it – lets have more Chaos Marines on the table instead.

I can bring 3000K of Basic Chaos marines if that helps!

Funny you should say that...I had a vision about the chaos altar earlier.

Deploy the (presumably) indestructable altar on top of the banestormbladesword, surround it with 1k sons and terminators!!!

Move off incredibly slowly in the direction we wish to poop on.

(It's kind of a shame they fixed turbo boosting, ie cover save now, as I could have done laps around this monstrosity)

Do you want me to go assault with my 1000 points, we look soft in the arse phase.

Arse phase for me has 2DPs and defiler tagg teaming and each CSM squad being able to chuck out 31 attacks on the charge after bolt pistolling.
What are you tempted by assualt wise? (what models you got) Do you think putting in around 1000 for elvis is fitting?
if so Shrike+ 10 Assualt marines+fist, 8 Assualt marines+fist, 8 Assualt marines+fist is only 768..Of course they'd get battered by the first pie plate that hit them..
You could DP a few iron clads..
you could go back to your first idea and have a bunch of bloodcrushers and a bloodthrister bloody bloodying up the blood staind bog.
You could go demonzilla (2 Greater demons and 3demon princes in synergy around 950.. apparently taking demonzilla +fateweaver = rude)
You could take a defiler/soul grinder formation (fluffy- not very efficent)
12 pentient engines if you want insane crazyness (a veritable herd)
Whats your poison?

We can never have enough effective FA, given our chaos core of slow and steady. :twisted:
Are there any guard formations that work with the vrax thing (e.g. lemann russ formations/ scouting parties etc) that you folks fancy?

The thing is, the hive fleet is coming down from exile, with my csm, to do battle with the evil of stargod.
It's a case of "use what you want, except the bikes and oblits...".

We need to sort a few things at this end, but...

4000 points of khorne (lot of termies, enough for a formation of).
3000 points of plague marines.
3000 points (minus bikers) chaos improbable.
1000 points of noise marines + slaanesh stuff.

I only have 1 daemon prince (the "poomonster" who once inflicted 35 hits on my own guys with his nurgly stuff!!!) and 1 bloodthirster, + 30 or so assorted daemons.

Imp guard stuff, what do you want???
Have access to about 7000 more points (inc about 7 russ types and 5 chimeras).

S'up to you and your flavour if "smurf" is a bad word.. and you want assualt then khorne sounds like what your aiming for.. those termies sound kind of juicy.. and we do have the damocles sat waiting to warm up its teleport homer goodness.
1000 points can let you have 30 of them if you want to be mental :)
or a defiler formation or you could compliment whatever WLH is doing for aggression (he mentioned beastmen? really got to read up on this book you guys are using ;) )
