Its tricky a lot of the bigger companies have to not split boxes for resale.. ( abit like when you have those 24 packs of crisps and they say "part of multi pack not for resale").Part of their deal with GW
I believe Gaming figures said they couldn't... but that was ages back.

I wasn't clear, I was more referring to things like the metal SM shoulder pads with chapter symbols on and the other sprues you can order on the website.

If something is GW Direct Only, then indies cannot stock them.

Indeed, direct order only items we cannot stock. We could order them in, but we'd have to charge you more than full GW price because we'd be paying full price to GW for them, so it's cheaper for you to get them direct from GW.

As to bitz (ie breaking down blisters/boxes and selling individual parts), the GW trade terms do not allow us to do this. The companies that do break them down either do not have trade accounts with GW (they buy off someone who does have a trade account), or they are breaking the GW trade terms and risk GW cutting them off. I'm guessing most, if not all, will be of the former - they're buying boxes from other independent retailers and then breaking them down and selling themselves.

To be honest it's money for old rope with some of the bits traders - I believe one of the spacewolf boxes has something like 56 heads in. You can buy a box at full RRP in a GW shop, break it open and sell the bits at 50p each and still make a massive profit! I doubt there's much GW can do about it once the parts have been bought by joe public - they are joe publics to do with as he wishes I suppose. Not sure what the legal ramifications are of that.

Disclaimer - I'm not encouraging anyone to go out and start selling spacewolf heads potentially illegally in this fashion. Besides - everyone knows you'll make more money out of bloodangel ones... ;-)

Indeed, joe public can do what he wants. Unfortunately we're not joe public, we're john trader :) There's nothing illegal about breaking the boxes down and selling the bits - we just can't do it because if we do GW can cancel our trade account and there's no more GW items to sell.
