MTG Houserules

Postby LordMalekTheRedKnight » Sun Nov 23, 2008 8:16 pm

Hey all :)

i was wondering whether anyone else had any useful houserules they follow when playing friendly games of MTG.

Kate and I have 2 so far:

- if the person who has to decide who is going first sees their hand before declaring, then they must go first (we use the rule that says whoever lost the last game decides who goes first)

- if both players wish to Mulligan at the same time, then the game can be declared void and the decks reshuffled for a new one (instead of both players redrawing 6 cards, they get 7)

as you see, these rules dont actually change the game itself (they are more akin to saying that dice dropped on the floor must be rerolled on the table in a game of 40K, for example).

can anyone suggest any more?

cheers :)

For my group, we have:

Randomly determine who goes first, usually through a die roll, for each game. This is more useful for multiplayer games.

If a player has no land, they may Mulligan (reshuffle and redraw 7 cards). If a player doesn't like their hand, they may Paris (reshuffle and draw one less card).
