@Matt. I have backed this with some of the lads from the raiders, we are currently deciding which fraction to have each, can you post an overview of how each race plays and maybe a pros and cons list if you have any of that info?

Cheers in advance.

At the moment we've only seen the stats for the Enforcers and the Plague - both of which featured in the Alpha and Beta rules for people to playtest. The plague have some limited shooting (at the moment) ability and their big guys want to get in to combat where they excel.

The enforcers are human elite with good shooting and very good armour. It takes a lot to take them out.

The Asterians and Rebs are completely new races so nothing is known about how their rules will look.

Based on their warpath armies, I'm guessing that the Marauders will be good all-rounders and the Forge Fathers will have the best tech but will be primarily a shooty army but with some lightly armoured combat troops.

Did you play the beta rules?

Nope, tbh I got on board because I liked the models for the enforcer sniper and the stage 1 plague. I also seen the scenery as a nice way to get people into infinity as its the same type of stuff you need for both systems. I think this may play similar to infinity tho so if it has any legs past the initial boxset at strike level then I may just stick with this for my "NecroInfinity" (TM) develop you squad with experience to make them better skirmish type game, and for £20 a head its worth a punt.

Do you have any info on the army building side of the game, Points based units and upgrades or equal no of models each ????

I think it will be points based (or similar) and upgrades (with experience between games).

The number of models will vary a lot between factions.

OK. So the Kickstarter is done. we all pledged, not the pledge manager surveys are coming up. question. what comes out in which phase and whats the bext distribution of my pledged funds of $234??

Originally I planned:

146 Early Bird
Free Elves
35 Dwarves
45 Zombies
8 AI deck

My question though, if Elves, Dwarves, Zombies and AI are all Phase 2. maybe I can allocate my 234 differently for whats out now and pay another 88 when the P2 survey comes out to get the dwarves, elves, zombies and deck??

Anyone else figured out what methods are best for allocating funds?? Also when will survey #2 happen and need secondary payments? I need to plan that as the wife isn't super happy with model buying right now. ;)

As I understand it, there is a second survey coming out later in the year, which will have only Q2 releases. You could use the initial $234 for phase 1 models only, and pledge a whole new amount in the second survey.

Or, you could pledge over the $234 in the first survey, as you have until October to pay any additional monies that you would owe. I started off pledging $470, but am now up to $498, so $28 to pay by October (I wanted courier service for shipment 1 as it's on top of Xmas, when post is more likely to be "lost"). There is more info on the Mantic site:

oh damn I can't make up my mind. I cant spend lots of money, but maybe I can slip in a little more on my shipment 1 pledge since I will have till October to pay....

I really wish I knew more about how well the models worked for warpath as well. Like and I better off taking a free Enforcer faction and buying a second Rebals and then booting both with the BOGOF $50 upgrades? or am I better ignoring one of them and going whole hog on just Enforcers or Rebals.

I have already decided that I may go a little 'crazy' on the 5 Enforcer dudes for $10 in 2014 if they fund as that 'might' be good stand in models for termis I think.

Not fully sure yet. but I have a couple weeks still to think it over.

It's probably a bit hard to say how they'll work out in WP. WP is going to go through another iteration back towards mass battles for its 1st "official" release (hardback book and kickstarter). I think Ronnie's vision is:
Skirmish level game = Deadzone
Huge games = Warpath

OK Matt, what do you think on this? Am I going to be disappointed at all?

Strike Team(EB7) $146
Enforcer Starter Set x1 - $0 (Free from Strike)
BOGOF Enforcer Booster Bundle x3 - $100 (1 free)
BOGOF Marauder Booster Bundle x1 - $0 (free)
BOGOF Plague Booster Bundle x1 - $50
BOGOF Rebel Booster Bundle x1 - $0 (free)
Rebel Starter Set x1 - $35 (Free from Strike)
Chovar Psychic x1 - $10

Total: $341 ($150 in savings from discount offers)
Pledged: $234

Balance due in October: $107

Then in 2014, I can plan to get the expanded universe stuff, Enforcers in Peacekeeper armor, and/or Zombies(AI Deck) for solo play.

Looks good to me (I assume that's a copy-paste typo on the Reb Starter set being both $35 and free!?)

I went for 1 of each of the 6 booster bundles.

I keep telling myself I'll focus on one army, two maximum, when the WP kickstarter happens. I don't believe myself.

I _think_ they are well on track to deliver by December. They might even be ready a little before.

The first rule of WP Kickstarter is "please can we not talk about it until after December" ;) (When the majority of the various KS I've been in have delivered)

(£££ subject to public beta-testing as I'm not backing it rules-unseen).

Yes, typo.

Hmm.. good point on solidifying to a single army though. Maybe I shouldn't get the boosters for Orx and Plague and just get Enforcers and Rebs. Oh man, the decisions.......
