Twilight Kin List

Your thoughts?

I like the layout - much simpler. Also like the simplifying of the cost of banners and musicians (the same points, regardless of Troop, Regiment or Horde).

On a related note: while I realise the Orc list is still in Beta stage, it has annoyed me that the Ax Horde (160) is more than double the points of a Regiment (60), unlike every other unit in the game that is slightly less than a double for a Horde vs a Regiment.

Had a little game against my son yesterday - he took the Twilight Kin and used the Undead.
Was a good game, though the Skeletons not waving and regenerating damage overwhelmed the Twilight Kin.

Highlight being the High Priestess, Breath Attack worked wonders but the lack of Heal really hurts the sustainability of units (guess it's in character - why would they worry about their troops health!)

I like the re-wored Nerve stat - calculating the result by adding damage, looking up Nerve to deduct then comparing to chart confused my son a number of times. Just adding damage (+/- Standards and Musicians; not sure as the grey box on the Twilight Kin does not mention them) then comparing to unit stat line is easier.

Need to know what 'Vicious' does? for our battle I assumed the same as 'Elite' but I'm sure it wont be - nothing on the Forum so far (will check again).

I've got my Undead ready for November meetup, but might actually bring the Twilight Kin instead...

Hmmm I need to go over the twilight kin and rework my Elf cheat sheet with the new Nerve, sounds a lot easier. Or wait until they put out the revised Elf list of course!

I looked at the list but couldn't see what it was? A bit of background would be useful to getting a feel of the army - or I may have just missed that web page as normal :)

or Executioners ;)

Agree on the Daemons but I imagine most people would use Fiends/Seekers for Abyssal Riders.

Dragon Breath is a flame cannon, like the normal Elves have.

The Death Stalker is a special character, so not really sure what to make of that.

Totally unrelated, but what's an orc "fight wagon" supposed to look like?

A wagon with a buttload of Orcs on IIRC.

Yep - forgot about them - don't have any in my Dark Elf Collection.

Baragash wrote:Agree on the Daemons but I imagine most people would use Fiends/Seekers for Abyssal Riders.

Fiends - possibly except they have no riders, No to Seekers as Abyssal Riders are classed as 'Large Cavalry', so would assume larger than cavalry base size - most likely 50mm by 50mm (or 100mm) - much like Orc Wagons or Chariots

Never liked the idea of a Flame Cannon in an Elf Army, especially as Mantic have not produced a model yet.

As to 'Death Stalker' - left to your own imagination to make something to represent....I'd assume a large Monster base and looking like the Statue on the back of the Cauldron of Blood?

Dragon's Breath:

Abyssals:

Ah, but with Renedra bases being flat it would be simple to magnetise the GW bases to make them the right size and effectively play Twilight Kin as Cult of Slaanesh. ;)

I would just use an Orc Boar Chariot (might have more crew when Mantic get round to having a model)
as I would expect it to be on a large base.
