Re: Fleets

Bombers are great, if you can get them close enough and survive the return fire. I nearly took out a Falcon with one in 2 turns...

Re: Fleets

I went for a safe 2 sets, plus 1 more X-Wing and TIE Fighter (to get the pilots) to start. I have since added a TIE Bomber and a TIE Advanced. I thin got good prices for the Falcon and the Slave 1. I'm now thinking about what to add...

Re: Epic Game

Sounds like a great game!

Your experience of the Transport was similar to mine, but we were playing on a larger table. A Chewie Falcon is great!

Re: So.... X-Wing.....

I wouldn't worry about numbers-the game is fairly well balanced.

I played in a 500pt 4 player game. Imperials had lots of TIEs, but the Rebels dealt with them in a war of attrition (2 Falcons helped, plus my bombers being unable to hit or evade!).

Re: So Long GW, It's Been Emotional...

Give the vouchers as a gift to someone else? I now feel like I'm living with a guilty secret... I played my second game of 6th yesterday. I really enjoyed it. My BA(really not good in 6th) took on daemons, 1500pts, kill points. I won, but it was close. I was helped by a hastily constructed quad gun ...

Re: So.... X-Wing.....

Best way to start is 2 starter sets - it's the cheapest way to get 3 more fighters and gets you the extra dice and a second set of templates. From there, add what you like the look of. For list building, I have seen a very successful 4 Interceptor list. Played a game featuring the Transport. Adds qu...

Exactly!

I got the same ribbing from the club I joined recently...

That said, no real loss - I have over 4k points of SM to use. It looks like the new ruleset will allow me to throw in all my IG/AM!?

Re: Drop zone Commander review.

Just get wed in the local registry office and take her down the pub for the reception, job done. ;). Then you can spend the spare cash on lots of nice shiny new models. Sounds like you've been reading his notebook :P @Phil: oh well, in 2018 when I finally get round to it I'll have to grab a PHR for...

Re: Drop zone Commander review.

They are just as cheap on eBay guys so buy there if you think it will be quicker. :/ I've bought from them through eBay a few times and they've delivered before the estimated delivery date-I think the power of feedback is a great motivator, as I've not yet experienced some of the delays others have...

Re: GW Tools

For me, it's a bit OTT...

I got the last tool set , for less than that, with a GW carry case-much better value!

Re: State of 40k

Played X-wing at Salute yesterday, good fun* *May or may not be related to taking Vader down with a regular X-wing as the last action of the game to sneak a 3 point win over Phil and win a chocolate bunny. I enjoyed it, nonetheless! Picked up the box game. Will be getting another copy, as it's a ch...
