Re: Knight Preceptor Canis Rex with all weapon options

I think I've finished painting this now. I'll leave it dry properly for a few days, then if I don't feel the need to tweak any paint I'll add the decals and call it done. Re: Knight Preceptor Canis Rex with all weapon options

Still loads to do, but added some washes and base coated two of the weapons.

Re: Knight Preceptor Canis Rex with all weapon options

Rough base coat is done. Forgot how much of a pain white is. Going to need lots of thin coats to even it out. IMG_20181026_162918784.jpg Hopefully when I use Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade it'll add some depth to the colours and pick out the details. I'll start on the weapons once I'm happy with the ...

Re: Knight Preceptor Canis Rex with all weapon options

Decided that rather than glue the top hatch into position with the support pistons, that it would instead be hinged so it could be closed during games. I cut off the little hinge ends on the hatch and enough plastic from the hull so that I could glue a pair of 2mm X 1mm magnets at each side. These n...

Re: Knight Preceptor Canis Rex with all weapon options

Base coats on Sir Hektor as the pilot. Need to get this and the cockpit finished first so I can glue them into the top armour. Then it's on to the Knight itself.

Re: Death Korps of Krieg

Thanks. I'll be prepping some tanks next for the DK, already modified an old Leman Russ turret to be larger and have the barrel and cupola offset like the FW Gryphonne turrets, plus a Conqueror style battlecannon. Needs some filler and detailing before I paint it though. Canis Rex is ready for paint...

Re: Knight Preceptor Canis Rex with all weapon options

Sir Hektor will need painting before mounting under the top hatch. Still not sure whether I'll prop the hatch open, or add a magnet so it can be removed for display.

Knight Preceptor Canis Rex with all weapon options

Started putting Canis Rex this weekend. It's just about ready for the start of painting, I've left all of the leg armour plates off and a few other parts to make painting a little easier, so it's looks a bit bare at the moment, but I did magnetise all of the weapons so this Knight can represent any ...

Death Korps of Krieg

Finally picked up paints to get started on my Death Korps army that has been sitting in boxes for years. I decided to dig out a Firing infantry squad, and use them as a test for my paint scheme. Starting with a grey primer, the coats were painted with Ultramarine Blue, leather with Mournfang Brown, ...

Re: My first new figures in almost 10 years

Haven't had chance to build anything yet. Got a Canis Rex Knight this week too, and some paints. I've undercoated a squad of Death Korps so will probably try to get those painted first, then get one of the Knights built to figure out how to magnetise it.

My first new figures in almost 10 years

Just got my first new figures in 10 years from https://www.gamingfigures.com . IMG_20180823_163633062.jpg I've always liked the look of the AdMech but there were very few figures back then, just the Techpriest Enginseer for the IG, and a few older figures. I stopped playing 40k before the Skitarii m...

Re: Forge World Gorgon Armoured Assault Transport

Gorgon construction complete. Lots of filling and tidying up to do, and a little heating and bending here and there, but it's finally come together. Spent the past couple of hours carefully trimming flash off the infantry, had to glue a few feet back on but on the whole not too much of a problem. IM...

Re: Forge World Gorgon Armoured Assault Transport

Still sorting out small details, the fuel barrels are now glued into place and the ladder railing. Also managed to carefully prise out the driver and seat so I could fit the correct arms, this will also making painting the cab and driver much easier. Re: Forge World Gorgon Armoured Assault Transport

Those photos were taken yesterday. Today when I took a fresh look at it I noticed that the front armour was twisted to the left. Measuring the upper pistons I found that the left one was about 3mm shorter than the right. Took a few minutes to detach both pistons, then got in with a thin Dremel cutti...

Forge World Gorgon Armoured Assault Transport

It's been 7 years since I boxed all my 40k collection up in the attic, but this week I pulled out the Forge World Gorgon transport kit to put together. I bought this from a site member, and local club member, about 8 years ago. The cab had been glued together, and the armour plating on the gun posit...
