Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedBeen a bit quiet on here again. Weather has been a bit cold to making printing a bit harder, but now I've got a heater running I'm churning outv prints again. So i printed a Lucius Warhound last week. Stupidly I only checked the Suze of the foot model against my FW Chaos Warhound and as the were the...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedPrinted out a Fire Raptor from a free file by IronMaster on Cults3d, came out really well and went together with little Hale. Now tempted to print out the Storm Eagle by the same creator.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedGot most of the Thunderhawk glued together today, the nose is still separate (hence the elastic bands) so I can get the ladders and flight deck out to paint the interior. There are some gaps that need filling due to some warping in the prints where I didn't support well enough, and a few areas where...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedThe parts are printed, so I guess I need to figure out how to glue or all together. Lots of drilling and pinning coming soon.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedAnd a few more pieces
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedBig flying Marine thing inbound!
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedThat red is just the cheap Elegoo standard red - I've gone through 3 bottles (not just with this), which I'd bought more when it was £17 a bottle from Amazon ... cheapest now is about £24.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedI've neglected to post for a while again. I've printed about 3500pts of Khorne Daemons since my last photo, and a few other bits and pieces. This is all of the Khorne models I printed in red resin - Skarbrand, two Bloodthirsters, Rendmaster Herald on Blood Throne, Skull Cannon, a few Bloodmasters, S...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedAnd most recently decided to try a bit bigger again. This dragon needed 16 hours for the body and tail, another 16 hours for the 4 wing pieces together, and then another 6 hours for the base and a replacement tail end (I didn't support the tail properly and one spike didn't get printed). Was my firs...
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedAnd so started a run of printing bigger and bigger models.
The first Skarbrand inspired thirster was printed in two plates, one for the body and one for the pair of wings. The other two were one plate each, with the wings either side of the body, scaled down to 85%.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedDecided to see how big I could go printing a single piece model, so scaled this forest dragon to just fit in the print volume. It was also a test of Elegoo abs like smoky gray resin, it has some flex to it so less risk of snapping small details.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedHad a run of printing Primarchs, taking large scale statues and scaling them down to 40k scale, and combining all the parts so they were printed as a single figure and separate base.
Still got a few more to do, but got sidetracked printing bigger things.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedHaven't updated this for a bit, but I've printed lots. And lots. And lots!
First up is a plasma blastgun to convert a plastic Shadowsword to a Stormblade. It's not an identical copy, but it's close enough. This is the first model I tried hollowing to save on resin.
Re: 3d printing - damn I'm hookedJust finished printing this large Konrad Curze statue for my brother in law, at 50% scale (even at this size the knee is as tall as a standard human figure). 20220702_185515.jpg The base, cloak, helmet, and cables were printed on the Mars 2 Pro, and the rest on the Mars 3 Pro. There were only a coup...
