Postby Taumaul » Thu Jun 19, 2008 1:31 pm

Will keep an eye on them Chris, we could use them.
Paint job not that good but that could be sorted.

Mighty Empires set should hopefully be in either this afternoon or tomorrow.

the one he got last night playing new 5th ed rules?

well it turned in the last two turns and Gav almost contested my own objective, with one defcopter who jumped into the ruin with 16 bloodletters stood around it last turn. He landed on the balcony, not quite directly above and claimed he was within 3 on the marker. If the line to it was even at a slight angle I would think it would be more than 3" to his 'floating' jetbike. ;)

But he did manage to take back his own objective, technically making it a draw. If VPs were the to be used or Kill Points, the daemons would have edged it coz all he killed in full units was, Bthirster, 1 Soul Grinder and two units of bloodcrushers. All 5 troops choices of mine were still active with only one unit below 50%, the other SG and one B/hound. Gav lost 3 trukks and there boys, Killer Kan, Defcopter, large expensive bike unit and 3 Skorchas :D

They certainly seem to favour small specialised armies, like Marines.

yes they do... and encourage ork armies to take larger units, which is what they are supposed to be doing. 'Green Tide'. I saw no tide in Gav's army, more of a trickle lmao :D

an ork unit should be 2-3 times the SM units anyways... to match points value and ability. a ten man SM tactical is about 165 i think.

orks are 6pts each so ur looking at approx 25 with a knob. maybe thats the kind of mob size u need for 5th ed. with 'run' ability now u can move 6+D6 and the turn ur wanna charge, waaaarrgghhhh so u can, witht he fleet USR

6 x 25 = 150 orks running across the table, for less that 1000pts. Leaves u 500pts for other funky stuff incl. ur HQ. Not so silly when troops are the key to winning in 5th ed. Who needs trukks.
