hi i'm Drax!

unless you want to learn some useless knowledge about me thats all the good stuff there.

i've been playing GW games for 15 years now and have switched frequently between 40k and WFB as my main preferred game.

for 40k my main army is currently Sisters of Battle which weighs in at about 2k at the moment, my second army is Chaos Space Marines. i completely re-started these with the new codex, stripping what i could and selling what i could not - previously they were Night Lords, but now they are a regular traitor chapter but there are only about 20 of them built now, so thats a w.i.p.

for WFB my main army is Vampire Counts - i am presently reanimating these guys as they took a large knock with the new book - previously it was zombie and necromancer heavy and i have also replaced my Dire Wolves.

so whereas before i had 1500 points, i was reduced to just under 500 points, but now currently stand at just shy of 1,000 points.

other than the counts i have a 1,000 points assembled but unpainted Beastmen army which will be sorted once the counts get back up to 2000 points.

i found this site because a friend suggested the store for good prices and service, and after having made a few purchases, and lurked for a few months, i thought i ought to make my first post!

i'm a forum junkie and am currently fighting the urge to start a daemon army either in 40k or WFB

thank you for your time,

Drax

welcome drax, and thanks for the kind words about the site and it's service.

I'm one of the owners and Taumaul is Gav. If you've ever had any form of contact with the store, he's the main man who looks after your every whim ;)

I glad u've registered, w could do with a few more, but our small community is knowledgeable and mature in the main ;)

Gav and I just recently started a Daemon army also, so we can follow each others progress on that one.

See you again soon :)

Hi Drax,

Welcome to our humble home.

Nuns with guns eh! I used to have a similar sized force of Sisters but as I do I got bored with them and sold them(K!NG will say its because they never won against his cheesy Necrons).

How long have you been into the hobby Drax?

Ive been painting/playing since 1992. In that time I think I have owned almost every army(not tried Dark Eldar or Nids yet). Also used to play a lot of Warhammer, mainly with Bretonnians, Empire and Tomb Kings. Again all those have now gone, as I am concentrating on 40K.

Current armies owned are:

Eldar, Orks, Chaos Daemons, Tau, Blood Angels, Black Templars.

Looking forward to the new 40k rules(may even buy a new army to celebrate its release(me bad, got to stop buying new armies).

If you have any queries or after some tips or recommendations just post up the question and Im sure you'll get a volly of replies.

thanks for the welcome!

i'm a year behind you - started in '93 with blood bowl, went on to necromunda and only after that did i really get into 40k. started with IG and a 100% record with them - yep, i never won once! once the first tyranid codex came out i started that, and this time had 100% win ratio - but to be fair, we were all still only 15 at the time and i'm not entirely sure things went 100% to the letter of the rules!

wasn't keen on 3rd ed 40k, so switched to fantasy with wood elves - didn't really get to use them though as the counts got their first book.

by then i was at uni, so got a few games in, but once i left, i kept buying, but not playing:

1,000 points empire (assembled, unpainted, never used), Beasts - half assembled, awaiting painting. Mortals, about 750 assembled, not painted, Dwarfs - 1,500 in a box, 1 unit painted!!!

about 3 years ago i met two brothers that played 40k, so i started that again - built up 2k of Night Lords, but i wasn't too keen on the scheme - as a weak painter, the lightning was a chore, besides i felt doing a renegade chapter was more fitting to the codex.

i must admit, i am looking forward to the new rules - i got my hands on the alpha stage pdf, and there wasn't too much to concern me, except the powerfist rule - but i am taking what i have seen with a pinch of salt until i see the real deal.

I started painting before gaming. Didnt start the gaming side of things till Necromunda came out. Cawdor gangers and then Spryers(I think thats right) were my gangs and I still have them. Even my wife has an Escher gang that I had to paint for her in disgustingly bright colours. 8O

Bloodbowl rocks, shame I havent played it in over 5 years. Might get the boys at the club into it. Get my Dark Elves out, give em a dust off and send them running down the pitch.

it was Chaos Dwarfs for me with blood Bowl - another 100% loss ratio.

am trying to get my friends playing it again though, but this time ive got the Vampire team

i went with Cawdor at first but changed to Deleque. my friends want to play that again, but these days none of the games particularly appeal to me

i'd rather go for Mordheim and use Carnival of Chaos!

speaking of Dark Elves though, wont be long now for a new army book for them!

yet another army 'i wouldn't mind doing'!!!
