Postby Drax » Wed Sep 03, 2008 5:50 pm

Hi guys, I’m Drax - I’m one of the ones that’s come from Gaming Figures.

Been playing GW games since '93 when a friend introduced me to Blood Bowl and from there I’ve played all subsequent games GW have released (to a lesser or greater extent)

I mainly play 40k due to more numerous opponents, though I prefer WFB.

For 40k I’m a Chaos and Sisters player - the former I’m very good with, the latter I’m very not good with – I’ve only used them about 5 times, so I’m still learning. Both armies are currently sitting at approximately 2.5k, but the Chaos have been started from scratch again in the last month as I dismantled my Night Lords to do my own renegade chapter – two weeks of solid assembly took me from 0-2.5k points so I had a choice of lists at 2k level games!

I have in the past had a guard army, a nid army and a small amount of Orks, though not enough to call an army in it’s own right.

For WFB, my main army is Vampire Counts – I have pretty much re started these guys after about 8 years as I have only just found a fantasy playing opponent – I am painting them up at the moment and so far I think I’ve just got to 1,000 points.

As well as here, I post on several other forums from time to time either under this name or the full name of Celephus Drax, and I mod on two of the forums I’m a member of, so some of you may have seen me about.

Well, that’s all I can think of at the moment, so I’ll leave it at that

Cheers

Drax

Welcome to the site Drax! Nice to see you here.
That's an impressive army list. Can't wait to see some pictures of them.

Standard caveat for this site, enjoy yourself and please don't feed the members!

lol - as a member myself, does that also mean i'll never eat again? i know i could do with dropping a few pounds, but...

i'll get some stuff up soon, the counts are probably the most likely candidates for that honour - the CSMs are still in grey as i had to get them assembled in time for a game, was planning to leave them a while you see, but my mate said that even with my csms, which were my better army, he'd still crush me with his eldar.

how could i refuse that challenge? it was a draw in the end on objectives.

the sisters are in various states of paint - i fundamentally detest painting, and will go to great lengths to avoid it, so the painting goes very slow, and in fits and starts.

Does that mean you won't be participating in the AoS painting competition?

Yay WHFB players! Welcome Drax.

WHFB was my first love and it still fires my imagination more than 40K does. I love both games though and have played far more 40K recently.

We need some WHFB action on this site! Glad to have you on board.

@timewizard - in all likelyhood, yes.

the problem i have is that i can picture in minute detail what i want to acheive, but can never get anywhere near. i know the thoery of how to do it, but lack the ability to convert it to model.

the whyf paints good though, so she does my characters!

@matt - agreed, there is something about fantasy that makes me more passionate about the hobby in a way that 40k doesn't.

in some ways, 40k sometimes feels a bit flat. i enjoy it, but comparativly, it'd be fantasy for me every time

@king: Oh! I ask, I have always wanted an excuse to get my dwarfs going!!

I think there would be call for a slight extension to the WFB area (its quite weak ATM)

Yes, I would love for it to have an active community... if you guys start using that forum and then more come or u find u need more forums now even, then just put a request into Spacker on 'The Site' forums.

We don't obviously want lots of unused forums, but if u think it's needed we can try them.

No! You can't do that.
It clearly states on p96 that all models in my army are mines.
I believe this to be a typo (in this case, just a statement of ownership) as nowhere is the term "mines" defined.

I seriously object to you using this to justify exploding your army every time I assault.

Furthermore, I object to the way you represesnt it on the table.
You may be wealthy enough to replace almost your entire army after every battle, but I'm not.

I'm fed up with police armed response units crashing through the skylight.

Please do something about it.

Where's the send email button?
Crap, I'm on aos.

Drat, I mean drax.
