Hello! Another newb :)

Welcome forum

Hello! Another newb :)

Postby LadyRaven » Wed Jun 11, 2008 12:38 am

Hello all! *waves* :)

Although this is my first post, I am a regular lurker. *peeks*

I'm Kate, and have my own Eldar force. I have a 400pt CP list, and although I have a larger collection (probably about 1500pts total), I haven't written a bigger list since the new codex came out.

You may know me better by my other name, Mrs Malek. :D

When it comes to tactics and rules etc, I consider myself a newbie. Mr Malek and I play games and have much fun, but my memory is lacking where it comes to rules so would say I am at beginner level.

I will be playing at Dan's when we visit in just under 2 weeks, but am nervous :? (partly due to my beginner level, and partly as I've never really played anyone other than Tim before), and also hope to join in at the August meet up at WHWorld, so if you're there and play me, please be gentle :)

Here is a pic of my 400pt CP force (just finished building it, still need to finish painting it ) :

Image

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Thanks for listening :)

~ Kate

p.s. I wanted to introduce myself before the meet up, although you won't see me post much (I am mostly online in work, and when I get home someone else hogs the pc, mentioning no names! lol ).

Welcome, Lady Raven (Kate). I have noticed you online before and I assumed that it was you. After all, how many female gamers could there be in Swansea? Glad to see you finally posting something, welcome to the online community.

FYI, I'm the bloke who sent Tim the razor saw so that he wouldn't "hack at" (his words) the Ogryn and end up in casualty with fewer fingers than he is supposed to have.

As for the PC hog, just tell Seth it is time to sleep, and you can have it for the rest of the evening. ;)

Well Met LadyRaven.
I cast my cloak on muddy water for you to tread upon.
I was present at the birth of both of my children and would not trade the experience for anything in the world. How you women do it is beyond me! Congratulations for Seth!
Nice to see Lord Malek's Lady making an appearance.

Quoth the [lady]raven "nevermore [than 400]" (Swansea is a druidium shore I guess)
Awww go on please!!!. (long running 'discussion' about how tim should play bigger games,) It also means you can play us lot during summer.

Ljundhammer and my wive's (? someone sort that out grammatically, I mean My wife and ljundhammers wife) played together tzeentch vs deathwing last week, my wife (the vet having loved khorne under older codex) decided she was unhappy with all the care you had to have for low model counts and the lack of catharsis that non assualt armies bring.. so she wants to use my newish nids instead (woo) it might be able to dent all termies more too :P

My missus will not be putting in an appearance over summer as she will be looking after my next mini me (due by C section 3 weeks today)

Welcome to the site - finally ;)

I guess I'd better my skates on sort out my CP army as it's now less than 2 weeks - I've never played CP before, so it'll be a first for me too :P

Ahhh, the enigmatic lady raven...
...as one of the more serious and sober "members", I would like to welcome you (an inelegant bow, to sophisticated eldar eyes). :D

That's a nice army, featuring the eml 750cc "roadster."

But, what's that in the centre of the front rank?

Is that a shadowseer, I'm not sure?

Welcome Kate.. I guessed Lady Raven was you when I've seen you lurking round the site :)

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in August. I'll have to come up with some CP lists... we don't play very often.

thanks all for your very warm welcomes :)

@ Culven. I really appreciate what you did for Tim with the saw :) He really enjoyed working with it.

@ timewizard: I wouldn't trade the experience of birth for anything either (not that I really had a choice lol). I know Tim wouldn't have traded it, but saying that, I wouldn't have let him! lol.

@ killmaimburn: its enough keeping track of 400pts for me, I can just about manage that. good luck with 2nd little one!

@ spack: dont worry about CP, its easy enough, not much different to a bigger game, but with certain restrictions. Tim's going to post the differences later on to help. thanks for the custom title too :D

@ ruffian: nah, not a shadowseer, its a Bladestorm counter (that Tim made, see here http://www.ageofstrife.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1371) and wanted to say a big thank you for the models you have sent :)

@ matt: looking forward to august and meeting everyone too :)

again, thank you everyone for your warm welcomes :D thats something I like about this site, everyone's so friendly :)

I've got the rules, I'll figure it out. So I can't bring my Armoured Company, right? Or Deathwing? Doesn't leave me much ;)

Jeez Tim, 2000 already? You'll be past my count soon, and I've been on this site way longer than you :P

Kate, thanks for the game when you came to visit. Hopefully at WHW (see Tim, that abbreviation is growing on me) you'll get a few more games in. I might even bring some Eldar along to see how they fare.
