Hello from down under

Postby bugbait_nz » Wed Apr 08, 2009 1:23 am

Hello from Auckland New Zealand (insignificant land mass off the coast of Australia)

Stumbled upon this interesting forum and thought I would have a crack at one of the terrain contests to see if it will motivate me to finish something!

Being completely domesticated Im more of a collector than gamer, Im mostly into my 40k Space Wolves and Im blowing the dust off my old Orks boyz now that they have some very cool models, love the Trukks, have 4 in various stages.
I also have a collection of LoTR and Warmachine minis on the long term "things to do" list.
Currently in a terrain building mood more than anything, once I have something to game on I might get the gaming bug.

The particular landmass that you call home is never insignificant!

Among other things, you will find motivation and inspiration here.
Just remember not to feed the members (particularly Ruffian and KMB, though they will try to tempt you with guile and glibness of tongue! )

Welcome to the site bugbait, you will enjoy yourself here.
Looking forward to seeing your stuff!

Now I know you have a population around the size of birmingham, but I do have to be cheeky and ask, Rob is that you?
If not then welcome whoever you are, hope you have fun :D

Thanks for the welcomes, and Im always on the lookout for inspiration and motivation.

@ KMB, no sorry Im not Rod, Im the other guy

Will post some of my terrain pics in a gallery once I find a FAQ that tells me why I get a 500 error when I try to create a new member album (have tried Vista and XP)

Heres a pic of my big scratch built LOS blocker, made from white polystyrene foam, plaster, foamboard and 3mm MDF.

Ah crap, that damn new member album error again. I can never recreate it myself :( The good news is that soon it will be irrelevant as the site will be running a shiny new gallery system that is much more stable \o/

I've fixed up up with an album here:

Let me know if you have any more problems with it.

That fortress is incredible. Did I mention that all new members have to send me some custom built terrain, that would like great on my dining table :D

Found it!
I thought that fortress looked familiar. Great job bugbait, why not post a link to warseer to the project log, you did a great job on it!

We have been kicking around some ideas for info we can give to people on how to paint and how to build terrain. Estarriol has a thread where he built a model like the old Citadel ruined tower.

I for one would appreciate if you did something similar so we can see how you build such nice work.

Also, look at the contests. I think you may enjoy those as well.

I don't think we've had a "what army do you play" poll yet, have we? Time for a poll methinks!
