Hey guys, any room for one more?

Hi, I'm another refugee seeking solace after the news of the GW forums' impending closure!

Name's Roger, been playing 40k for about 8 years but collected and painted the models for a while before that.

Approaching my half-century, have a daughter who thankfully hasn't started playing 40k (because I would probably lose to her and it would cost me another fortune to get her fixed up with her own army), but really enjoy the whole 40k scene.

Armies: I have about 8-10k of generic Marines which I can use as White Scars/Ravenwing, Ultramarines, Space Wolves and Deathwing in varying sizes of lists, also 4.5k of Necrons, 4k of Harlequins (the Trial Codex points), two 2250pt lists of 13th Company - one Wulfen, one standard 13th Co -, 5k+ of Tau and sitting in the wings are a 4k Emperor's Children and a similarly sized Legion of the Damned army which includes a Veteran Sergeant Centurius model: the Holy Grail of GW models, I am led to believe!

Anyway, enough about me. Oh, by the way - I have a weird sense of humour so bear with the Old Dog, ok? You have been warned.....

Only one Sgt Centurious? I have two ;)

Welcome to the site, nice to see another "old-timer" (although I myself am in my mid-thirties, so 40k came out just as I hit 16, although before that I used to play WHFRP and Runequest).

eiglepulper,

16 years of 40k? Wow.

I never managed to get of my Space Hulk box until two years ago, and even then my poor SH box was neglected for more than a decade.

Did eiglepuler say 16 years? Looks like 8 to me :P

I said I started 40k when I was 16. I'm 35 next week. Hell, I started with 40k 19 years ago ...

I bought Space Hulk when it came out in 1989, sold it last year.

yes, we all know you've been in 40k so long you've forgotten what it was like to not have it, Spack, adn we all know how huge your collection is (some of us have seen it).

Welcome aboard, eiglepulper. The more the merrier, as far as I'm concerned, just get onto the IRC and say hi to us in real time.
