Where \ what direction were you thinking of taking?[/quote]

First thoughts were to use Chaos rules and Thous sons ..and Tzeentch because I wanted to have lots of psychic powers because I think this arm y will be coordinated by a sorcerer.

I was thinking that some of the big stuff (heavy support) could be beasts rather than machines...didn't go down well with ruffian4

Still very much in mind and not even at the drawing board yet..but it will be.....it will be...

killmaimburn, hello,

My thoughts were to use chaos rules with thous sons and loads of tzeentch because it's a sorcerer led army.

Good idea to use warhammer stuff ..I had an idea to use beasts for large heavy support...did mention a undead war elephant to ruffian 4 ..didn't go down too well.

the ideas are still trapped in the pits of my mind and not quite at the drawing board yet..but it will be ...it will be....

Something occured to me just now...

We have beed thinking that undead = tough.
But, if the boss man is a parasitic leech type thing, it could actually mean them becoming weaker.

With that in mind, how about using sisters of battle?

Penitent engines would fit into the vehicle/beast idea???

If sticking with the chaosy idea- try to have a glance at imperial armour update 2006 (better rules cheaper) or IA Apocalypse.. rules for giant spined beasta and giant chaos spawn.. particularly in the update 06 incarnation with khorne enthusiasts they were quite uber awesome (to the point at which some folks got upset- hence (i believe) their rules getting worse and their points price trebling for the next year)
If you go for that alot of folks look out for the spawn (tm) cartoon models for giant spawn- they look pretty.

Picture noticed!

For AOS information, hivefleet's avatar is an (original?!?!?!?!) piece of art by the brawn himself. Talented fellow that he is. :D

For battle sisters, I was thinking...
T3 with 3+ save.
Acts of faith in lieu of psy powers (stuff like invul saves, +2 strength but I1, etc.

Though it might tread on Norsemantyr's toes a little, come to think of it.

well SoB have the same armour and guns (and some stats) as Marines, but lower S & T. this could represent their master feeding off their life essence.

at the same time, they have special powers called AoF which could be used to represent their master giving them back some of their power momentarily, or pushing them beyond their limits, to give them a sudden boost when needed.

at least i think thats why he suggested them. ;)

Scroll back up, mate, I think you've skipped some posts!

The dread idea is good, maybe treasured servants too far leeched on to act by themselves (and have gone insane in the process).

It gives a bit of pathos to the big guy if he can't control the process too.

Something like a third of the time, they will either stay still and shoot the nearest target (friend or foe) twice, or go charging off.

It's not that bad I suppose, but annoying when it happens.

But, in 5th there is the run rule and that applies to dreads. Chaos dread that lurch gain fleet, so it's possible to move 6", run d6" then charge 6", which would be nasty.

If you like the dread idea, we might be able to do something with these (I have 4).

They are a bit mechish, but some citadel bits would sort that out.

Looks like a Robogear "werewolf" - I also have two of them - they came in the starter set box I picked up a couple of weeks ago (good deal,a ctually. One small Hexagon set, 8 mech/vehicle models (2 each of 4 kinds) and 20 infantry models with various weapon options - oh, and dart/pellet launchers! for under $30 Aus - and a Hex set is $22 retail by itself).

They would be good for an alternate penitent engine model (with some creative use of bits). Doctor Thunder used the legs off the Robogear spider guns platforms for his (FSM) Black widows dread.
