Yet another re-tread

Hi all,
I am returning to the fold after 20 years absence. Played a lot at University, bought shed loads of Rogue Trader plastic. Put it in the loft. Moved house. Put it in that loft. Moved house again. Put it in that houses loft. Got married and the new wife went into the loft, and she said.

"Lo, look ye unto the plastic that hides its face from the world. Let it not slip from thy visage, but bring it forth so that it might bathe in the radience of thy wife". And Lo the plastic men were brought forth and did bow down before the wife, who saw that they were good in her eyes and did shew her benefice unto them. Then the wife put forth her hand and raised up the Kroot (who had been bought not unrecently but hidden away for fear of her wrath). "Let not these funny chicken men sit all grey and tawdry for it is an abomnation that I shall not abide". And it came to pass that mine hobby of many years past became DIY under the direction of my wife (who has a biological type degree and is dead fussy).

Actually we even went to GW to see the figures museum and she found two figures that she thought looked ok. Unfortunately they were flippin Space Marines and no disrespect to the emperors favorites, but there are far too many of them out there compared to the honourable foot sloggers. So my mission is to put together a legal, but wifely acceptable IG army (with maybe some of the funny chicken men as auxiliaries - assuming that is still a legal option).

I bet all my paint has dried up too ;(

I'll be posting as soon as I get myself sorted out.

Welcome to the site. Hopefully you'll find it quiet and relaxed here in your twilight years, and the nurses will try to remember to force your pills down your throat at the required intervals.

I went to Warhammer World last year, and was disappointed with the "museum" - most of it was freshly painted and very very new, there was 1 cabinet in the back corner with a couple of old 80s figures and that was about it for the "classic" era of figures. I have more "old" stuff in my bits box than GW does in their so called museum :(

we've already been chatting in my thread and by PM, but i still wanted to welcome you, officially so to speak.

so welcome to Age Of Strife! :)

it would be interesting to see if your paints have dried up - ive still got some on the go from when i first started (12...13? years ago) and they are still fine. the later ones with the screw top lids... not so good.

you might even find that you have some colours GW dont even make anymore. ;)

cheers

And thus didst KMB open forth his gob and words he spake came thus

"Pop lids r r0xxers, I have handmedowns 1stgen citadel that with a nail(to stir)+a l1ttle water still work b3tt3r than new1s- and it bomb ting that u ere, ire :D "

and low did the great and mighty spack stir and place a striked curse upon the brutish tongue of KMB "thou shalt not textspeak twas most oikish!!", and KMB was mollified by the cautionary hand of his betters.
