Reading through it sounds like event was somewhere between "meh" and "that's my last GD, I'm not wasting my money again".

A few happy people here and there but in general, not a good event. Hardly any new stuff on show and no 40K at all. The event was dominated by Dreadfleet.

GW has had at least 8 years of falling sales units, and as long as they persist with a business model that has been demonstrated to be ineffective in at least the book, music and video game industries, they'll continue raising prices and losing volumes.

In addition to any people that leave because the quality of rules-writing and army book/codex refresh cycle are terrible.

Was below avarage this year, 2 hour que just to get into the retail area (including black library and forgeworld). The que then cut through the gaming area which made it extra crowded.

The design studio area was very disappointing, the only thing they were showing were Dreadfleet, ogres and storm of magic. I didn't see a single model there that was new. While I wasn't expecting to see a whole range like last year with the Dark Eldar it would have be good to see something.

What did steal the show for me was Forgeworld and Warhammer Forge. We managed to get tickets to the Forgeworld seminar and Tony Cottral gave a good presentation and was quite open answering questions.

Alot of the forgeworld stuff everyone knows about but IA 12 sounds good, set on a prison world where the battles take place underground involving penal guard, minotuar space marine and tzeentch.

It was Warhammer Forge that got me most excited. The Throne of Chaos book is beautiful (wish I could have got a copy) but the Monsterous Arcana book coming out Jan/Feb next year looks awesome. Had a look at the book but a lot of it was empty apart from the names of the monsters. The book will contain 50 odd monsters to be used in Storm of Magic but with extra rules and opitions to include the monster in your army if they fit (the Coatal for the Lizardmen for example.)

The plan is for all models to be out within a year of publication and there are rules for every monster already released and those we've seen already. Exciting stuff.

Defo my last games day for a while if not ever. The lack of organisation and content was really bad for the £30 price tag.

Got this in a Email this morning from GW. Think thay have realised thay have FUBAR'D it this year.

"To all Games Day 2011 customers,

It was great to see you all on Sunday at what proved to be our busiest Golden Demon and Games Day in quite a few years. The gaming tables, hobby areas and displays were packed all day, particularly the Dreadfleet demo games and our staff have fed back how much they enjoyed talking with you throughout the day. We hope you enjoyed it too.

It was good to see how popular some of the new activities were, such as the Masterclass demonstrations and Armies on Parade, both of which we will run again next year. We will also continue to show more of the Golden Demon entries on the big screens, which again proved popular. As always the reviews are already under way to build on what worked well and look at what we can do better.

On the latter, I'd like to apologise to those customers who had to queue for the sales stands in the morning. I'm afraid we were unable to cope with the sheer volume of people wanting the new Warhammer Forge, Forgeworld and Black Library releases. Lessons have been learnt and we will ensure that next year we are better prepared in the sales area so that any queuing is kept to a minimum. I'd like to thank you all for your patience while we sorted this out and I cannot speak highly enough of the behaviour of those in the queue during this time. You were amazing. Thank you.

Anyway I hope you all returned home safely and enjoyed sharing your purchases and stories with your friends and families. Keep your eyes posted on the Games Workshop website and your local Hobby Centre Facebook site for more pictures and videos from the day.

Until next year.
