To sum up Weathering powders.

Depending on the make will have different effects. While FW powders are clumpy, which is good for heavy build ups.

Then there is FoW Powders. They are very fine and good for dusting.

As a rule you can not just throw it on a model. Its a Dust. It needs something to adhere to. Water or Spirits are best.

How to work the effect is the fun part. You will have to learn this your self and experiment.

A knowledge on dirty mechanical machinery would help you learn quicker.

Wants on, a light dusting of purity seal normaly holds it on. Get it wrong and you will ether get black fingers from touching it or end up matting out the effect.

Also most the upper body is done and work has started on the carapace.

The white overspray at the top is a dead giveaway!

Wow. Questions.

Right then.

Chevrons. Yes there done by masking tape. No air brush tho as yet I do not own one. so just spray paint. Marke the points out on pencil 1st so thay line up. Its a bugger to do but if you get it right its rewording.

Legs. Leadbelcher, Nulin Oil. then dry brushed with Lead again in serton places.

if you view his image full size he looks even more impressive.

I'll do some detail shots when I have a bit more detail. Just noticed his feet should be green.. so that's on the list also now.

My pair. The best kit GW have put out in a long time - the torso can pretty much stay together without glue! Carapace is not yet glued on, I'm going to be doing a purple and bronze scheme on the armour, with a single shoulder and shin pad on each painted to red to denote the extended campaigning with the blood angels chapter.

I also followed the advice in the WD when they were released and put a bit of sprue to hold the torso on top of the legs but allow almost full mobility.

Currently not glued to the bases either.
