thanks Si... so here's the latest.. He's now ready to do battle tomorrow, but I can see from the close ups a few brush slips, and there's loads more to do to the arms/weapons also ;)

See if you like the general overall look of him.. he's a freeblade who fights against Chaos with the Dark Angels... it was Chaos who destroyed his Knightly House.

Any ideas there? Was thinking if cutting up some imperial sector ruins to go on it. Also washed some prieces of slate as a possibility.

Nige. One suggestion. With the upper body armor. Try and brake it up a little. One sold color can ditract the view of an already good job done.
disclamer. i cnt spell due to been dislexic or dropt when born. tho the 2nd has never been admitted.

u mean some chevrons on the canopy :(

I don't think im up for something like that. confidence isn't there yet for that. It has a heavy wash on it and therefore is shaded fairly well.

I did think about painting the small door to the left as u look at it with some small chevrons.. but once I get some more decals on it that will make it more interesting.

It's looking good I was impressed with the the paint and the model when I saw it in the shop. I'm still holding back on getting one as I really don't want to start an new army even if it's just an allied detachment. I've still got far to much Tau and BA stuff left to paint as well and a huge list of stuff to add, like a third riptide!
What, no image sigs!

Its a lovely model, very tempting. I know that if I did get one it won't get used though. Good work on the painting Nige!

:) Cheers fellas - yes I'm proud of it. By far the best project I've done to date.

I still plan to do quite a bit more to it. I'm going to use my new found weathering powders on him, to dirty his legs a bit and the smoke stacks and weapons, but both weapon arms need to be brought up to the same point as the body first. Then the base... I'd love some ideas on that base if you could guys.
