Had a run of printing Primarchs, taking large scale statues and scaling them down to 40k scale, and combining all the parts so they were printed as a single figure and separate base.

Still got a few more to do, but got sidetracked printing bigger things.

Decided to see how big I could go printing a single piece model, so scaled this forest dragon to just fit in the print volume. It was also a test of Elegoo abs like smoky gray resin, it has some flex to it so less risk of snapping small details.

And so started a run of printing bigger and bigger models.

The first Skarbrand inspired thirster was printed in two plates, one for the body and one for the pair of wings.

The other two were one plate each, with the wings either side of the body, scaled down to 85%.

And most recently decided to try a bit bigger again. This dragon needed 16 hours for the body and tail, another 16 hours for the 4 wing pieces together, and then another 6 hours for the base and a replacement tail end (I didn't support the tail properly and one spike didn't get printed).

Was my first try at using resin with a UV torch to bond pieces together and fill gaps. Used tiny amounts of super glue to hold the parts in place, then used a bradal to add drops of resin into the joints and then a few seconds of UV light to cure it. The joints are really strong!

I've neglected to post for a while again. I've printed about 3500pts of Khorne Daemons since my last photo, and a few other bits and pieces.

This is all of the Khorne models I printed in red resin - Skarbrand, two Bloodthirsters, Rendmaster Herald on Blood Throne, Skull Cannon, a few Bloodmasters, Skulltaker, Skull Master on Juggernaut, 10x Blood Crushers, 24x Bloodletters. I've also now added 9 Flesh Hounds and Karanak in grey resin but not yet taken a photo. Need to get a better one in daylight.

Tried out transparent resin too for replacement Eldar skimmer and Valkyrie canopies, which worked pretty well.

looking grand bud :) I'm picking up my 3rd resin printer tomorrow, kicking off another couple of scenery projects at the weekend. That red resin looks ace - might need to try it out

That red is just the cheap Elegoo standard red - I've gone through 3 bottles (not just with this), which I'd bought more when it was £17 a bottle from Amazon ... cheapest now is about £24.

That's looking great. Need to get round to doing one of them at some point. Done a few big stompy things over the past few months :)

The parts are printed, so I guess I need to figure out how to glue or all together. Lots of drilling and pinning coming soon.

Got most of the Thunderhawk glued together today, the nose is still separate (hence the elastic bands) so I can get the ladders and flight deck out to paint the interior. There are some gaps that need filling due to some warping in the prints where I didn't support well enough, and a few areas where the parts were a pain to fit as the designer didn't leave any tolerance gaps between parts; in some cases the parts intersect each other so you have to grind bits off! The major parts are pinned as well as glued, the top half can be taken off so I can adjust things and gap fill before painting.

Not sure I'm happy with the crew, they are made up of some old Rhino crew heads and bodies from my bits box, and some printed speeder crew arms and legs with the shins narrowed down in Meshmixer.

Printed out a Fire Raptor from a free file by IronMaster on Cults3d, came out really well and went together with little Hale. Now tempted to print out the Storm Eagle by the same creator.
