4 for the price of 3. :-)

Postby RotweillerofJustice » Sat Jan 07, 2012 7:53 am

Thought I'd share this.

Just before Xmas I won the shas'o r'myr, xv81 & xv84 tau battlesuits from eBay. Not only did I win them at a nice reduced price. But, sitting down now whilst at work to make them I find that I have enough parts left over to make a standard xv8 suit.
This is due to two of the models having resin torso pieces allowing me to make a complete torso from the unused parts. The only bits I've had to source are feet which I have spares of from the xv88 broadside kits.

Now surely that has to be a bargain? ;-)

Will post up some pics as I make them.

Not bad, sounds like a bit of a bargain.

My best so far is still the Legion of the Damned Sgt Centurious that I picked up for £3, together with a Babylon 5 Mimbari cruiser. It was labelled as a spaceship + figure, and had a fuzzy pic of the small B5 model next to a black undercoated figure that I immediately recognised as the limited edition figure. Won the auction at minimum bid, I guess nobody else even bothered looking. Means that I get to keep the one I have in blister (that I got at a GD for £5) unopened and still be able to field him (along with the original boxed set of 10 LotD, and a set of the ones that were released a couple of years ago) :D

Now that is a bargain. :D

On the subject of the battle suits. The resin moulding was its usual standard for forgeworld except for the R'myr model. There were some massive misalignments on the castings and unusually for forgeworld a lot of flash on the parts.

Had to spend a lot of time cleaning this up. :-(
