Air Brush and Compressors.

Postby hunter101 » Sun May 19, 2013 8:01 pm

I have been strongly thing about this for a long time.

2mm to 3mm cup fed Air brush and a 80psi compressor is my thinking.

What are peoples experience with this sort of kit?

What do you mean by an 80psi compressor? It's not really a quality you need to look for. It needs to be adjustable down to at least 5psi (0 is best) and have an air tank, the larger the better. Everything else is just personal preference. If you work in your home and need to worry about noise I'd recomend you go for a hobby compressor not an industiral one as they are super loud.

Brushs are all down to the individual a 3mm brush seems to be a good jack of all trades. It'll be my next brush, when I stop spending all my cash on models and save for a decent one!

I got my compressor kit form here http://www.rdgtools.co.uk/acatalog/AIRB ... PARES.html I got the one with the two brushes and air tank. It's very cheep and work well. The compressor works very well and the brushes are usable. I'd rather have something a little better but for the price they do alright.

I have been looking at the same one. Think I will go for that. I do a lot of flat surface models so it makes sents to get one. + I can finally get some real nice shadeing done as well.

Pre-shading is awesome fun. I just haven't got an army yet that can take advantage of it. To many layers getting to light on my current themes. I still practice laying it down on my vehicles for when I do have a go for real.

RGD tool have an excelent coustomer service as well as prices I'd highly recomend them.
