The only way I would use it indoors with rattle cans is if it was vented to the outdoors.

It looks like it has a fan, a filter and a duct. It would do a great job of filtering the particulate, the paint particles, keeping the over spray from going into the air.

But rattle cans, the aerosol cans, are solvent based. The filter would do nothing to remove the solvent fumes from the air. In fact, the way the vent is pictured, the booth would actually be venting those fumes right into your face.

So again, my recommendation is to vent the boot outdoors. WIth the thin discharge chute, it would probably be fairly easy to open a window a crack, point the outflow out the window, preventing the fumes from going back into your house or workshop.

Pricey though. That's a lot of models out of a hobby budget!

It is if you price it against purely models.

I weighed it up against cost and time of undercoating / base coating (including spray cans) versus time spent detailing / playing games. It means I can undercoat, base coat and add first stage highlights to entire squads in one night. At which point you *could* base your models and have plavable-painted units really quickly.

Food for thought though.

Agreed stu, there is no excuse now I can make to myself for not painting anything. Before I was rushing 10m back and forth to shed to spray, run back and wait, back again to turn models & spray again. Another few times, and then same process again for base coats. And if it was cold, raining or dark I would just use that as an excuse not to bother.

Now I can make a tank, spray it up straight after, apply undercoat and put a few colours on the model. Looks way cooler than grey only models. You'll soon see if it makes a difference by the number of models I get painted this quarter.

Here's the tank I made last night which I recently posted In painting thread..

Now normally that would see a few games before it reached that stage, this time of year :(

My aim it to paint all I own this year to at least this very basic standard. Then I can go back at them and detail the ones that I want to.

When I weigh that up against instead getting more models and having them also sit there with no paint on them, the choice was easy.

Would you recommend it for use indoors? My painting den is going from the garage to a back bedroom so I want to airbrush indoors and was looking at this. Also is it easy to clean and let light through? (I'm thinking of putting in front of the window, lots of lovely natural light)
