So um sup forum.

I was here, sitting at my computer and drawing plans for a scracthbuilt tank, thinking of something like a KV-1. Then it came to the track units. I've always sucked with these. then I rummaged around looking for something to use as a gun mantle and came upon the chimera track units. Of course, using those would have been possible, but kinda boring, and I wanted to show the track wheels. So... there were parts I'd like to use I thought, especially this bit:


But, I'm going to cut that area out, flip it upside down, cut the areas between those bolts and glue the track wheels as normal. then I fabricate some more with the chimera sides and add mounts for the other wheels too (the ones that don't touch the ground all the time)... I wonder if this was clear

So, I want to know: a)have you seen something like that before, if you have give me pics please and b) is it worth it?

Ps. The rest of the tank will be mostly plasticard with GW bits. I'm really thinking of a KV-1 "general" feel, and no wise cracks that the KV-1 has no side armour (the stuff I'm asking info on). Side armour is a important part of any 40k tank.
