Ok, so a few months ago im sat painting a marine, my standard scheme that ive used for years, black with gold arms and trim, and i realised ''my god, im sick of this scheme...''

i put down the marine, and still havent finished it

for a change, to brighten things up, i purchased some Tau (my thanks to PCTech Normanby for their discounted prices, saved me a fortune)

just for once, i decided to use a standardised scheme, that being the T'au Sept, and i really perked up with it, no metals, no black, just clean bright colours

well today i transferred that to a marine, in a test for a new chapter, personally, i think it turned out rather well

so what do you think? be gentle, i've never opened my stuff up for critisism

I think it looks really good, certainly better than the old one! Good work and a nice even colour you managed there. The only thing I can think of is maybe to pick a good spot colour to break up the large flat biege areas.

BTW, I fixed your images for you. I used the "get image urls" link from the gallery and chose the TMBL option which saves the image code to the clipboard so you can add it to your post.

i've been floating around for a while, Nige kept giving me the little advert card for the site whenever i went into store

the left shoulder pad will have the badge on, which im in the process of refining as its been basic as hell for years, and not always consistant.

defining test for the scheme is a dreadnought (got 9 already, but i cant say no to them!), but that'll be next week at the earliest since i've a forge world order to put through

i'm feeling brave, so im investing in a Titan

and Lugft Huron of the Astral Claws as my new chapter master

Yea your new scheme looks amazing altho I disagree with matt (sorry m8) I like the large flat biege areas.. it may be an idea to try a spot colour on another to see if it works for you tho.

well, some of them, librarians are easily sorted, just change the shoulder and bam, same for a couple of my chaplains.

yes, i have multiple chaplains and librarians

might try to repaint one of my dreads, and maybe re-engineer my predator using a rhino hull i have unpainted.

if it doesnt work out, i know a good place to buy

It looks good, I also like the Clean bright colours, have you had any idea what colours would look like on vehicles?

i looked at my chaplains earlier to see about moving them to this chapter, but i forgot that they are painted in the old scheme (black with gold arms), same for the librarians (blue with gold arms) so to avoid the headache, im just rebuying them when i win the lottery

i've about 3/4 of a battle company sitting around, hence the new scheme, so by about the end of the week (once i've cleared my backlog of painting for the hell of it, 2 imperial cruisers, a deamon prince and an ork deff dread) i'll get a Rhino painted up, though im still of the opinion that the dread is the definer for the scheme, since thats how i ended up with my last one

restripped a couple of techmarines too, since my favourite one is from the old command squad (bionic arm and axe) and no longer available, i'd like to keep him around.

i'll update my gallery with any new shots, or perhaps make up a WIP thread for everything, and just update it as and when needed.

That new scheme is nice, but is in not going to get a bit boring painting your SM like your Tau?

Dispite that though mate, I do like it as an SM color scheme... got a name for them yet?

well with the marines being this scheme, i was going to adapt the tau a bit to move away from it, darkening this bit and changing that colour

but keeping the kommando/vomit mix as the main armor colour because of the etherals i've done, like hell am i even attempting to repaint them


i was thinking along the lines of Knights of Talus, with Talyn as the chapter master (Talyn being a former screen name i used years ago, its kinda stuck with me since, even some of my friends just call me it)

im open to suggestions though
