Fire Forge Figures

Postby Ian » Wed Aug 01, 2012 6:00 pm

I have started my new Fantasy Army and I have chosen Bretonnians - yeah I know, I don't like winning much. Anyhow I have a nice idea for the army and since Fire Forge have some nice Teutonic & Templer knight boxes I thought I would invest in box of each to start the ball rolling.

Firstly I bought them Wayland games Sunday afternoon and they arrived Tuesday so good job Wayland. Shame the post office saw fit to leave over £50 of goods on my doorstep all day!

So last night I spent a few hours putting them together. The horses are all the same except for three different heads between two horses so you get no variation. Also the figure base takes a lot to get off the sprue and I mean a lot! The same applies to riders as well. There is one body shape which have four different cloaks and has various heads (all in full helm) which are well modelled. You can arm them all with lance or other weapons and the shields are basic. So if you like detailed and individual models these are not for you.

So overall thoughts. Well the figure has little detail but fits well and there is no flash to speak off, so over all I am happy with them especially as they are 12 for £18 compared to GW 8 for £16. I have added some pictures but of them built and will add some more after I have painted them.

I expect the Templars to be much the same but I will let you know.....

On that 2nd photo the knights head seems to be floating off the body!?

Is the fit good?

It's called a neck! :)

Actually the head fits well on the body, in fact I like the heads most of all, its just in that shot the cloak does not come up to the helmet as it does in others.

Under coated them today and I will see about painting a couple.
