That looks soooo good. I have maximim respect (and quite a lot of envy!) for people who can do things like that with GS. My limit is just about filling.
"The guns have stopped because we are at last about to attack. Even our generals aren't mad enough to shell their own men, they think its far more sporting to let the Germans do it!"

TBH I'm not that great with it, I had a lot of help from a recent eBay purchase ;) Take a look at others pics in my gallery for clues (under Inquisition).

Spack. Looks great. I really need to get some of that cast making material myself.

jlong, if you do avoid the "Instant Mold" brand as it's simply Oyumaru repackaged. The original stuff is about half the price. Also there are harder compounds which while cheaper (such as Polymorph) are much harder to use as there's no give in them when set, and also ones that need a high temperature and so aren't suitable for use with plastic or metal figures as they'll damage them.

I paid £4.90 + postage for a pack of 6 sticks of Oyumaru (if I'd been willing to wait a week postage would have been free, but I was too impatient!). Instant Mold which is identical tends to be arond £10 + postage for the same amount. Each stick is about 2" long. The sticks are re-usable so while it doesn't sound like you get a lot you just dump it in boiling water for 2 mins and make something else. So far I've only used 3 sticks, and 2 of those are for stuff I want to make more of so I haven't reused them. The Dreadknight used a single stick cut up into 3 pieces, one piece per part. If I did each part sequentially I could have used 1/3, maybe even 1/4, but as it's reusable I didn't need to be frugal ;)

Alginate is one you have to mix with water, sets quickly, and once set cannot be re-used. With Oyumaru, Instant Mold, Polymorph, and similar thermosetting plastics you can re-use it just by putting in boiling water for 2 minutes, so you only ever need a small amount as you don't have to throw it away when you've finished with the mold :)

Another update to the Dreadknight
