Incredible work

Postby timewizard » Tue Feb 04, 2014 2:32 pm

Wish I would say this is my work, unfortunately I can only hope to get to this level one day.

I found this on Cool Mini Or Not.
I wanted to throw it here because I was just so impressed with the paintwork in general and the level of detail
I think it's a beautifully painted and detailed model.
What's that you say?
What scale are they?
1/12?
1/6?
1/35?
Maybe 28mm?
Well, I admit to having cropped the original picture. The modeler put an everyday object in the foreground for perspective.
Take a look.

Yeah, I know, I thought the same thing! ;)

That is the biggest cigarette I have ever seen!

Awesome paintjob though. Stunning level of detail on . . . everything!

That's not a cigarette - it's a painted drainpipe! (please God let it be a drainpipe cuz painting that well at that scale is un-natural!!!) lol:

LOL, yeah, I reckon it's possible they are 1/12 figures and the guy scratchbuilt a huge Lucky Strike!

Oh, while I think of it, on other thing.

I posted our objective marker competition on Cool Mini Or Not and will post our future comps as well.

If anyone here belongs to CMON, please look at the thread and post something in there (not just a {bump} please) to keep the thread on top.

If you don't belong to CMON, please sign up so you can do the above!

Will really help to support our site as well as theirs.

Thanks.

When I was looking for a tank crew for my paper Tiger I stumbled across loads of pics of tiny figs painted way better than any 28mm I've done, including pics like this:

(taken from http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=268525 , unfortunately that's the only pic remaining as the site the rest were hosted at is no longer running)

And those are just WIP!

Found another pic of one of the same figures from close up. These are 1/72 scale figures from Caesar.
