Mini review - Basius Pads

This is a little mini review of Wargames bakery / Zinge Basius pads. I had my eye on these since there kickstarter and picked up the Ruined Highway last month, got around to using it today and must say very impressed. In a nutshell it's a large negative stamp to use for your blank bases, spread some greenstuff on a base then stamp away! If you are like me and have hundreds of blank bases and can't justify spending moar money on resin bases crack then it's a must have! Results have varied as I've tried different amounts of greenstuff obviously the thinner the layer the less detailed. With 2" of greenstuff I've done 10 bases. I think with practice 6" probably could cover 30-40. I'll be adding random left over bits/sprue bricks to further detail.

All in all strongly recommend!

That looks really cool my only concern is that the model isn't going to bond as well to the green stuff as it would the plastic base..... But I guess I'd have to try it first to find out, lol. I love the idea and could see from just the pictures what was going on, so the simplicity of it's design shines through with ease. The final effect is cool do they do more than just the one texture and if so are they up for general release or is it all just kick starter only?

They have been available for a little while now, quite a few different designs I've seen some cool ones on youtube and people have used two pads to create some cool effects. The second kickstarter is some time this year for more designs not sure when though. I'm toying with the idea of making some modular tiles by rolling 2ftx2ft of greenstuff and going stamp crazy.

Nice. I couldn't wait for your reply so I've checked them out they really do have some kick ass stamps. My only problem is picking which one I like best! If I wasn't so far through both of my armies I'd definitely think about picking one or two of these up. The steam punk one looks awesome for Iron Hands/Warrior armies.

I choose a generic one so I could add bits later, really worth the money.

I just got one of the new stamps from their second kickstarter. Looking forward to trying it out.

I also backed Basius2 to get either the Battlezone or Industrial pad to base my Space Crusade models on.
