Necron Colour Scheme, Advice Please?!

Postby RedEyeJedi » Sat Jan 04, 2014 8:32 pm

Hi Guys! I've finally found my way back to Warhammer 40K and am looking for some suggestions on my colour scheme.

I decided purchase the Red Necron Rods and started the following colour scheme a long time ago:

I think the Troops/Destroyers look great but it's where Lords/Vehicles etc are concerned that I'm having trouble.

I had an idea of incorporating more red into the army the more important it is, for example Troops more bone looking with little red, and Lords/Vehicles/Elites etc with more red than bone, with eventually the Nightbringer etc been Black/Red/Evil looking.

I have vision of my Ghost Arks looking like big boney rib cages and am having difficulty deciding on how to actually incorporate the red/bone into the models that aren't troops/elites etc!

EXAMPLE: Lords looking more like this (Replace silver with bone)

What do you guys think? I appreciate the suggestions!

I think you're on the right track. Those are very sharp looking.

Looking forward to seeing the lords "improved" with the bone color.

And you're idea of going more red/black the further up the hierarchy is unusual and novel. Should work very well.

It looks like you have it pretty much nailed down. It's a really nice colour combo and done well. Adding more black and red to larger sized models should work well. I'm picturing a black monolith with the odd bone pannel and red portal/crystal.
What, no image sigs!

nice colours but not very metal looking.. how about battle damage so u can see the metal underneath? ;) just an idea, but it will probably just make em look old and ancient :D

BTW, if you're a keen painter and it looks like you are.. we have a monthly painting comp that is usually just for bragging rights and to encourage us all to paint something ;) but this first one actually does have a prize I think.. anyways, check it out and joint the team.

I like the bone colour, makes them look enameled. You could add some varnish, possibly satin, to really give them that enamelled look. I agree with KInG though, maybe a bit of weathering would add to the overall look.
