Ruffian's pretty pansies.

Postby ruffian4 » Tue Dec 28, 2010 5:01 pm

I can't remeber for sure, but I don't think I have put up pics of my first 40k army, biel tan eldar.
By the time I got here, I had been seduced by the lure of chaos and genestealer thongs.
There was a time though, when banshee thongs were my thang ...

Here be dragons …

Image

Were guarding this, so go away you plonker.

Image

Spinning the night away reaping hip hip hooray.

Image

Squeel howl and a serpent, the precise angle of the starcannons, seem to form an exotic tree frog.

Image

Dive my hawkmen, dive!

Image

Spiders crawl all over the hexagonia drilling platform.

Image

Rangers!

Image

Dcannon disaster imminent …

Image

Wraith walker cracks banshee bum joke to wraithlords amusement and warlocks embarrassment …

Image

Building k3 is secured.

Image

Don’t tread on me …

Image

Vyper trilogy.

Image

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone.

Image

Were on the road to wraithguard.

Image

The royal family.

Superb collection - nice how you've unifies the sects rather than painting them all separate schemes.

Great looking collection - must be a long time since you've used it.

Love seeing all the old sculpts - reminds me of my collection started 20+ years ago (will need to get mine out and photograph).

Well, like I say, this army was my first 40k effort, hadn't even attempted anything like it since napoleonics and ww2 in school.
It's taken time to work up the confidence to start chopping and changing!

Virtually all the terrain is home made.

Its not quite as brown as it looks in the pics (the orange isn't as bright and flat either). :D

It is actually bleached bone, washed lightly with chestnut, then extreme highlighted with bb.

This is how I've done a lot of the wraithbone stuff (see avatar's sword and jain zar).
The purple turret is to identify it as a "warpstalker", dedicated farseer transport with 2 d-cannons and tl fusion guns!

I think the entire army looks fantastic Ruffian!
I'll box up the Dark Eldar force I'm working on, and send it to you for painting!
I want a primarily red force, be a nice change from green and purple for you!
Beautiful work mate!

project-logs/twat-persents-a-table-t1094.html

This covers the basic bits and bobs.
The rock faces were made to create a "canyon" type landscape, but with the addition of mine shaft lifts and so-on, we also have an "underground" 3d mine (have to imagine the cieling, though!).

I have some "in progress" pics somewhere, prob on photo bucket, I'll have a look.

If you want to know anything specific, ask away.
