Today I've put together a couple more aircraft for my IG Air Cav force.

First up is the Vulture, this one being the recent hybrid resin + plastic kit rather than the old full resin kit. It goes together very easily, and is pretty solid - the tail fits into slotted recesses in the sides with a nice snug fit, and the tail pieces fit solidly with the outer tail fins fitting into armoured sheaths that are secured into the Valkyrie tail fin slots. I've got enough spare parts off this kit to complete my scratchbuild Valkyrie (cockpit, engines, tail fins, rear hull skid, heavy bolters, door gunners).



The second new flyer is the Sky Talon, which can be used to carry either of the Tauros buggies or a pair of Drop Sentinels. The clamps slide in runners, although I'm not sure they'll actually hold anything as they do move enough outwards to fall off if not careful. Again, a simple kit to build - it uses a few more parts than the Vulture, but still leaves plenty of spare parts.



There is one resin part left over for the Sky Talon - there's a small rectangular piece with a cross slot which is designed to replace the underside of a Tauros so that the flying stand can still be used when carrying one.


Along with the 5 Valkyries (2 FW, 2 GW, 1 scratch), other Vulture, Thunderbolt, and Lightning (very very frightening AAAHHHHH Mamma mia ...) this gives me a solid start for a force using the Elysian list in IAv8 (although I've got too many Heavy Support choices as Vultures are 1 per HS slot rather than squadrons, although I could proxy one as a Vendetta). The Sky Talon is also a HS choice, but doesn't use up a FOC slot, so that lets me take 4 HS aircraft in a single FOC

If I proxy the Vultures and Sky Talon as Vendettas, and get one more Valkyrie, I can max out the Valkyrie/Vendettas in a Codex IG list (3 x 3 Fast Attack), but it makes hardly a dent in the Elysian list in IAv8 - in a single FOC you can squeeze 83 Valkyries (2 Command Platoons as HQ, 3 Storm Trooper squads as Elites, 6 x Infantry Platoons - Command Squad, 5 Infantry squads, 4 Heavy Weapon squads, 3 Special Weapon squads) as dedicated transports, and 3 x 3 Vendettas in Fast Attack. Both the Elysians and Codex IG can take an unlimited number of Sky Talons as Heavy Support (while they are a HS choice, they don't take up a FOC slot!).
