There is a a steel bracket you screw to the wall and interior screws attach to the mount. It's very secure, it works with my ipad 1 and 4

Could do with something like that for my nexus 7, although I think I'd prefer something that clamped to the desk rather than the wall (the back of my desk is under a full-width window). I think I'm probably going to need some daylight lamps that do the same. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I use a regular work light holder, was very inexpensive, and just put a daylight bulb in it.

You can get by (I've found) with a cheap lamp holder and the right bulb.

I got two SMD Daylight GU10 lamps from Ebay, £20 each. The middle lamp is from Hobbycraft about £30.
