That's unbelievable! And its all painted, puts me to shame as I've never managed to even finish two armies in twenty years, and one of them has needed some more models painting to bring it up to being legal due to the change in the last SM Codex! Good job, mate.
"The guns have stopped because we are at last about to attack. Even our generals aren't mad enough to shell their own men, they think its far more sporting to let the Germans do it!"

Capt Edmund Blackadder, the Somme, 1917.

Many thanks all. :adora

I have to say, the photograph makes it look a bit sparse! It seems far more packed and swarmy in person.
As an idea of the madness though, for some reason I seem to have 47 spore mines :!:

In fairness, this army has been collected since 1996ish and had a basis in my first GW staff lead order. I've also had a couple of very good second hand deals over the years. I have a rule that it doesn't get played with unless it's painted. Also I only consider myself table top standard, and this army employs many quick short cut techniques to bang out big units. Its not close to the work I've put into the battle sister or guard troopers for example.

So where next? Beyond new release stuff, I could use 2 more venomthropes to make a brood of 3, 2 more 4th ed zoanthropes for a brood of 3, 2 more 4th ed biovores for a brood of 3. And if I pick up the biovores, they come with more spore mines....

I joined 'the brotherhood' who worship the great sky mother. After I joined and found myself with a new purple skinned child I found I became blissfully ignorant of all outside distractions, almost a blank mind. Would you like to join? :xxspider

Got the last 10 raptors done!!!
Last thing on the painting table is 5 termies with twin lightning claws ...

I added up how much night lords stuff I've already got done for Stargod and it came out to just over 2000 points. Yikes!!!

This, added to the army I had put together of a solid 3000 = 5000!!!

It's kind of weird, though, as this army came together "accidently" with an accumulation of csm that came along with army deals I bought.

Well my next project is organising, playing and photographing our summer apoc sized game this wednesday. It's about 7k a side, 10 players or so and we are hiring out the local computer game / minor gw stockist' game room for the entire day. I've got to stuff all my terrain in the car along with a load of army cases.
So no more painting / building this quarter.

No battle report. I'll post a summery and any photo's I take, but it boils down to having a set amount of time, lots of models with 7 other players who occasionally need a helping hand with stats and rules, plus some newer rule heavy forces like blood angels and necrons in the mix.
I'm simply not going to have the time to record events as they go along. I'll be snatching photographs in my opponents movement phase, but the rest of it will be busy. The table won't be photogenic either. It's going to be a mix of the stores and my terrain on green boards.

We are trying for a super heavy only game afterwards, time dependant. That should be brutal. We should have various baneblades, a stompa, an eldar scout titan and a warhound.

Some snap shots. 2x eldar, chaos space marines and tau vs 2 x tyranids (I made up the odd number of players) Imperial guard armoured company and necrons. 1500pts each army. The eldar lead team won by a slim margin, curse them. (I blame eldrad again)

Nice pics Angelwing. I really should get a Nightwing to go with my other Eldar flyers ...

For my own project, I'm almost at the ready to build stage, with the final railcar pretty much finalised in Sketchup model. I think I'm going to do a half train initially, the entire thing will be huge and might well put me off. If I do end up doing the other half I've got another Panzerjagerwagen variant to model, as well as the Abstosswagens.

The half train as it stands now:
