The commissar models are really nice, better than the raging heroes female commissars. The scale fits better with GW and they are not as flimsy.

To be fair that's always a major worry with 3rd party products... I do loads of research before buying stuff like that.

I hear most are using some mobile app these days... But as I don't have a mobile device I'm out of the loop.

These are very nice models. I kind of want to paint these my self, lol. I like the take on the colour scheme you've ran with it carries through quite nicely.

thanks :)

they are really nice models to paint and glad it got them :)
the color scheme was quite simple as i have a large Eldar army and recently added dark Eldar and Harlequins so have been trying to keep them combined while at the same time separate separate, so i just followed that though with these :)
apart from the cat who i painted after our little mog who passed away recently.

As to why I've been quiet, I've only really been doing some weathering / dressing on my guard tanks. Its nothing special or new so It doesn't get put here. I've also not done any actual painting for several weeks as I'm processing a photoshoot from a month ago - 800+ shots to sort through. I'm on the last quarter though.

so..... after getting sidetracked by a million and one things (it's always the 'one' thing that takes the time), I managed to get 'phase one' of the gaming table put together.

table_02.png
table_01.png

This version is made up of two Ikea Kallax cubes on castors. Each has a 2*4 sheet of 18mm MDF attached using Ikea Capita angled brackets. The additional height puts the gaming surface at roughly bar height, with a recessed surface underneath for keeping things to hand while playing.

The two halves are joined using table latches (one at each end) that lock-in pretty tightly. Since the pics were taken I've painted the tops in 3 coats of blackboard paint, which was the most cost-effective and hardwearing finish. It also means we can use the bare table top for theory-crafting x-wing :)

Next up I'm sketching out some inserts for a couple of the cubes so that I can store 1' square tiles for laying out our bolt action games. I'll most likely add a 3rd section later in the year if we decide that a 6*4 would see some use, but that needs a re-working of the man-cave first.

And on the painting front, stioll not quite there with my BA Russians, although I have been dabbling with some X-Wing. Here's a pic of the Flying Lizards list that I'm currently playing - Miranda and Kanan

Must get these Ruskies finished. Pics soon - I promise ;)
