Ben's Trashy Objective (Comp #1 Entry)

Postby Ben » Sat Aug 23, 2008 3:33 pm

I put it in spoiler tags just in case you don't want to see my idea. A big part of this is in how it will be built as I am trying to not buy anything in building the objective marker.

Spoiler: show
Okay for the competition I am going to be building an Imperial Command Center. I plan to use broken toys, household trash, and cut offs from other projects only. The only GW bits will be the base and perhaps a zombie which I will turn into a sage servitor to write down the commands.

I am digging though stuff to see what I have available but I am thinking a monitor bank, an antenna array, little hologram table and perhaps said servitor. I know I can do that on a 60 but I really want to get down to a 40 so things may change.

I already have my idea sketched out, and I was thinking along the same lines with the main elements. The difference will be how we carry it out! I look forward to seeing yours! {No spoiler revelations in this message!}

EDIT: For grammar and spelling

Will it be based upon groucho in a bin from seasame street, is that what the spoiler hints at? I do hope so. :lol:

Actually, the muppet in the garbage can is "Oscar the Grouch", on the other hand, "Groucho" was one of the Marx Brothers. In either event, I'm still not divulging the spoiler!

Part of the reason I started this is to keep me honest and working on it.

I have pulled out quite a bit. There is a wire mesh from a splatter guard that has outlived its usefulness. There are a couple of broken cars (Hot Wheels ripoffs). Some cast of military bits rounds it out.

I have started seeing what I can do with a 40mm. To me a 60mm will be more of a mini diorama and less of a gaming piece. I am not saying people can't use them but that just seems really big in my hand (and no calls of "that's what she said").

well i bought what i will be needing, from Tesco this afternoon (total spend: £1.90... although there will be plenty of left-overs once i have made the marker for that). im using 60mm for this one, although others will most likely be on 40's.

no hints as to what i will be making yet. i have done a little research though...

I've figured out what I'm doing too. Total spend should be zero, as I should have all the parts I need here in my bits box.

Ahhh, It's good that ones attempts at lowering the tone hereabouts have been recognised. :D
Afterall, double entendre is twice as good!

On to the plan...turn AOS into the age of carry on film appreciation society (strife). :twisted:
